The Nevaeh question got me wondering...

If you are willing to share, what do you plan to name your baby? And what, if anything, influenced your decision?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

As you probably know, we planned to name our baby Ruby Katharine... I am ok sharing that here, since I don't 'think' I know any of you personally... ;) But we are NOT telling anyone we actually know until she's born, and man is it HARD! My grandmother is really giving me grief! LOL

My son, in the most loving (and humorous) way possible, said he is naming his baby sister "Garbage Bag" or "Trash Can" or "Dump Truck" because that's all the places he wants to put her! Can you tell he wanted a baby brother? LOLOL (***Seriously, he does this to be funny... no developing sociopath worries here... LOL He is already in love with this baby... :)

I guard my baby names like gold.. especially after my first. I told a few people, my cousin being one of the people I told, and two of her friends jacked my name. I picked the name because it wasn't "M." that was killer growing up being one of six in my class.. so after I found out two of her friends took (then butchered) the name I kept my mouth shut.. then at the hospital TWO MORE PEOPLE stole it. Once again, they butchered it so I wasn't as pissed off. But seriously you're going to be brazen enough to steal a name while you're in the hospital?! That blew my mind.. SO this time I've literally told my parents and in-laws and that's pretty much it.. besides the name we picked this time is Hawaiian again but it has an olde english translation that make some people be like "huh?!" but I'm not naming my kid to please other people so boo-yah!

Well, Im not pregnant anymore, but if I had my choice 4 months ago, Im pretty sure it would have been Katherine Elizabeth. Because I think its beautiful and my middle name is Beth ;). Im big on the meanings of names as well. Looooove the name Kate! I think its so beautiful. My husband didnt agree though. Damn dads! ;)

Of course...

If it's a boy, he will be Nathan Edward. We just like "Nathan" and Edward is my grandfather and my cousin with whom I was very close and who died a couple of years ago.

If it's a girl, we're still in negotiations... either Sara Marie (my favorite) or Natalie Marie (husband's favorite). While I love both names, I DO NOT like Natalie shortened to "Nat". "Nat" is the guy from the Peach Pit or an annoying bug, not a sweet little girl. I'm thinking I'll win this one because the hubs really likes Sara too. Marie is my middle name.

We'll see. Our first discussion was "Caroline" until someone connected it to the Kennedy's... our older son is "John". I don't want that fate!

Not pregnant now, but our new guy is Ian. DH really liked the names Rowan and Brendan, but I didn't, but we both agreed that Ian is a lovely name that fits him perfectly. His middle name is Andrew- the same as DH's.

Here he is:

My husband and I are way off on girls names, I like Emily and Abigail and he likes Farrah, Sarah and Bella. For boys names we are definitely have a junior, Joseph Michael.

Our problem is we are having twins, so if we have 2 girls we don't know what we are going to do, because neither one of us is willing to compromise and each pick a name. And if we have 2 boys, we can't agree on a second boys name.

I shared and didn't care if people "stole" the name I picked. I wouldn't care if everyone I know named their daughter Sofia (our first). We loved the name and were going to use it no matter what.

im not preg any more but I combined my daughters g-mas names and got Marganna Rene and then my youngest son the hubby and I chose Aidan Connor, we both liked the names and chose the old irish way of spelling and yes once we chose Aidan every kid was named Aidan but none are spelled like his, my ex named my 1st son and the hubby chose his 1st sons names Seth Israel the ex chose them out of the bible and the hubby chose Hunter Kalan but he said he wanted Pindragon as a middle name and no one would let him choose it. If hubby and I were to have had a girl in Jan we were gonna name her Katheryn Destany Katheryn for his g-ma and Destany cuz we were h.s. sweet hearts that were forced apart, both had disasterous marriages but were able to find our way back to each other and have the life and family we were "destin" to have together.

When I told my son and hubby I was pregnant my son instantly said he was having a baby sister so we decided to include him in the naming process. Between my husband and I we threw a few names back and forth but couldnt agree. My son also had a few names he liked such as "black widow" and mystique lol. But obviously no. Then he asked about Harlee Quinn and we all agreed that his baby sister would be Harlee Quinn B. :) I think that since he picked a name we all agreed on it worked. And it made him so much more excited about the baby. And honestly it doesn't matter that the name is a comic character, we LOVE the name and she will fit just fine into our family of oddballs!

My second daughter was named right after I had my first! Three years later, along came girl no.2. Hubby hated the name at first, but it grew on him. The name was Ava. I LOVED the name.(1 b/c I just really like it, 2 b/c I love the Ave Maria, 3 my grandmother was Marie, so she is Ava Marie!) So, for 2+ years everyone knew that if I had a second girl it would be Ava. A "friend" was pregnant at the same time due 2 months before me, guess what name she picked?! AVA! I was so angry! I think she thought I would back down once her daughter was born, but I stuck to mu guns! All our friends knew I had picked the name first. We are not friends anymore. (Not due to the name theft!) So, I guess sometimes you do have to be careful!
