Hello ladies...
Dilemma: i have a 3 year old boy, and a 6 month old little girl... until now, they were bathed separately, him in a big tub, her in her small tub... well, she sits now, so my question is, do any of you bathe your kids together??? i know girls privates are sensitive, so I'm not sure if its ok to wash them together and sit in the same dirty (well, not dirty, i wash them daily) water...

My girl will be 4 soon and my son 3 soon and they bathe together if I am home alone because it is alot easier-and I do not fill the tub w/water we either shower or let the water run slowly so they do not get UTI infections. L.:)

I also bathe my 4yo son and 2yo daughter together...have since she was able to sit well (around 6-9 months, I think?). They love to have a playmate in the tub, especially once she was old enough to not need my continual assistance. Like the others said, use mild/gentle soaps and make sure you're supervising. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about a thing.

Absolutely. I've been bathing my kids together since the youngest one is old enough to sit (+6 mo.) Instead of filling the tub, I put small chairs in the tub so they're not sitting directly in the water.

I completely agree with Susan. Use healthy, hypo-allergenic soaps for both kids. I have been bathing my kids together since my little guy could sit up. They are now 4 yrs.(girl) and 18 months (boy). Until my daughter can shower by herself, I will continue to bathe/shower my kids together.

No biggie.
You can wash them together.
We do. But my kids are older.

BUT your girl is STILL only 6 months old... even though she can sit, she can drown and/or "slip" down a tub....they are STILL "wobbly" at this age even if sitting up. Many times, the can teeter over and be like a "weeble-wobble." For example: both my kids were still bathing in their Euro-Tub up until almost 1.5-2 years old.

SO... I would still possibly wash her in her infant tub... or at least never just leave her under the "supervision" of her older brother. Big kids like to "splash" a lot in a tub and play (my daughter does, she's the eldest)... which might not be "fun" for a 6 month old baby...at her age, splashing water could look/feel like a "tidal wave" to a little baby.

But if/when bathing together, juust use gentle soaps/ or Cetaphil.
Yes, sometimes a girls privates can get irritated from all those "kids" cartoon type bath/body gels and fragrances. So just don't use that type.
Find a brand that is hypoallergenic or less harsh, that you can use for both kids.

Try Whole Foods or any other natural food/health store.

All the best,
Susan

my 2 girls bathe together. since baby was 7 months (since she learned to sit). I start with only a couple inches of water and baby is only in for a short time, then when baby gets out, I add more water so the 2 yr old can play/bathe longer. Rinse baby girl off with fresh water. OR I'll do one at a time, baby 1st, but saving the water.

I have a 4 year old little girl and 3 year old boy and they have been bathing together since my second was born. We just recently (as in 7 weeks ago) added another boy to the bunch and they are all 3 in the same water. It's never been an issue.

We will start bathing separately once our little girl gets a little bigger for privacy issues.

Hope that helps=)
