To All the Mamas Who Own a Buick Enclave

I am dead set on buying an Enclave as our new family vehicle. (Sorry, but I'm not interested in hearing about other vehicles to consider...I've made up my mind. But thanks anyway!)

I'm just questioning what package to go with. CX? CXL-1? CXL-2? FWD? AWD? 2nd row bench seating? 2nd row captains chairs? Console in the 2nd row? etc.

I'd love to hear the specifics from you mamas who currently have or did have an Enclave and what worked best for you, or what you wish you had gotten but didn't. By the way, I am looking at pre-owned; hence the reason I'm trying to get it spec'd out the way I want! ;) Obviously I'm trying to get the best deal possible, but I don't want to miss out on something simply because of the price. But at the same time, I don't have to have all the bells & whistles if they aren't necessary.

If it helps, I have 3 kids + 2 dogs (kids = 8 yrs, 3.5 yrs, and 3 mos...dogs are a St. Bernard & a Westie).

Thanks for your insight!

What can I do next?

My neighbor has this car. She loves it! She has the captain's chairs - that was the main reason she got it - that way she didn't have to fold the seat down to get to the back - she has three kids. If I hadn't just bought my 4Runner, I would have bought the Enclave.

Well, I do know this, you want AWD!!! It's awesome and since you are in PA and will have snow, it will be a big benefit.......

As for as the seating, I think whatever gives the kids the most room....and comfort......along of course with the two dogs.......Just think of them riding in the car in 3 or 4 years......what will you need for each of them, how would it fit, then look to the seating choices and choose the best one.......kids grow, cars don't..........

Take care and good luck............congrats on the new car too! Enjoy!

I have an Enclave CX with the captains chairs. Love the car! While I was waiting for mine to be ready, the dealership gave me a Cadillac to drive for a week with the 2nd row bench seating. Assuming the Enclave works in a similar fashion, it was such a pain to have to fold down the 2nd row to get to the 3rd, especially if you have carseats installed on the 2nd row. Unless you are planning to seat all 3 kids in the 2nd row and use the back just for trunk space, I would definitely go with captain's chairs.

Now that I've said that.....if you travel a lot with your dogs in the car, you might want to consider getting the bench in the 2nd row so that you can put the kids in the 2nd row and the dogs in the back. Without folding down the 3rd row seating, the trunk is small so if you want to be able to get your dogs in the back, you probably would need the 3 kids all sitting across a 2nd row bench.

Good luck,
K.

I don't have any advice..but my husband's Aunt has an Enclave and loves it way better than their Tahoe they used to have. My MIL has the GMC Acadia (which is the same thing just the GMC) and they love it also!
