I have two boys...one is a little over 2.5 and goes to bed around 830. My other son is almost 4 months and goes tp sleep around 7. I would love to put the younger one in his crib now! Any strategies, ideas, tips? He is still getting up 2 times a night and is a very noisy sleeper due to his reflux. Thank you!!

What can I do next?

get a white sound machine and place it near the older childs bed and place the monitor near the youngest's. The white sound will make the other noise blend more and should help.

I think my youngest was a little older when I put my girls together.. but my oldest was about 2½ years. The only thing I can really say is that they will probably wake each other up in the beginning.. but after awhile they will learn to sleep through each others noises..

Try it out a few times and see what happens. My son is 2.5 and I swear he could sleep through anything! I wouldn't put him down before he's ready b/c then he'll just be there listening. When they're tired, they'll fall asleep and stay asleep! If they baby is waking-up your older son after a few nights, then hold off on the shared space.

My 2 kids share a room. I have 4 year old girl and 2 year old boy. What I do and I started about the same as your youngest. I would give them baths together or one right after each other. Get there pjs on and then give the older one a milk and snack, while I put the baby to bed. then an hour later I would put the older one to bed. I would do all this routine about an hour before their bedtimes. my younger one would wake up once a night till he was about 11 months till he slept through the night. they get used to the noises in their room. Even today I still do the routine, but now its shower and bath then milk and snack then, I put the younger to bed at 8, he is fast asleep by 9 when the older one goes to bed. I'm a big believer on routines. I hope this helps good luck.

My boys are 2 and 4 and they've been sharing a room since the youngest turned about 6 months old. Someone else mentioned a white noise machine - that worked for us too (although we used a humidifier instead, sometimes just the fan, without the water basin). I do think the white noise muffled the baby's crying. However, it only took a couple of nights before my older one slept right through the crying anyway. They rarely wake each other up. I'd give it a try, I bet they'll sleep right through each other's noises too.
