To be honest, she probably isn't ready just yet. Most kids are not fully potty trained until at least age 3. Don't try so hard. She'll let you know when she is ready. Just ask her if she would like to use the potty and maybe buy her some pretty new undies. She'll show interest at her own pace. Good luck! :)

she is not ready.

If she ws ready it would be easy..

It is just like any other skill.
My daughter was scared of the toilet and cried when I took her to public bathrooms when I had to go..

Then a couple of months later she was ready and she started using her potty.

She was trained in 2 days.

I do suggest buying cotton panties so that when she pees she will feel the wetness. Pull ups are expensive and do not help kids get trained.

We had my daughter in pullups for 6 months hoping the she would start telling us when she had to go. It never happened. If we put her on she would go. She was never afraid or anything. I finally got tired of it and put her in panties one day. She hated the pee running down her leg so for the past week she has been successful. She has had a few accidents were she didn't quite make it in time but she is telling us when she has to go so it is a success in my eyes. My daughter is 3 (almost 3 1/2) so she is older. It may be too early for her, but give it a try and you will know. Good luck.

I would not get to concerned until after 3. There is a switch in the brains that turns on. But here are some things you can try set the timer for every 20min and when it goes off put her on the toilet. Put the little toilet in the main room so it is easy for her to go and then slowly move it towards the bathroom. good luck

If it's that hard for you, she is not ready. She will let you know when she is ready. Just make sure she knows when she is peeing in her diaper and it will happen from there. My daughter literally woke up one day in the morning when she was almost three and announced she wanted to wear panties and use the potty....but before that, all my trying didn't make a difference. Just help her learn what it feels like when she has to go and the rest will fall into place. Good luck and be patient!!

N., give her another six months to a year, and then try. Her nervous system may not have developed all the connections needed in order to be successful. Instead, take her to the bathroom when you go, be a good role model for her there, show her what "big girls" do, but don't put any pressure on her. "Once Upon a Potty" for girls comes in book form and video, too, and you might buy those or borrow them from the library and begin to read and watch, for starters. My advice, though, is to WAIT.

How old is she? If she is more 2 than 3, just wait! Don't force it and don't worry about what other people think if she is not potty trained. She will let you know when she is ready. Mine started around 2.5 and were fully potty trained by 3. But that's my kids, everyone is different. I also bribed them with one gummy bear for trying or going! :) My last one wanted to go to her sunday school class with her bigger sister but she had to be potty trained. That's all it took!

If your daughter isn't at least 2 1/2, I would suspect that she may not be ready yet. If she is closer to three, and showing some signs of readiness such as having some nights where she stays dry, telling you when she needs to go or needs changing, is able to go if you put her on the tiolet, etc., then I would suggest moving forward with the potty training. My first daughter was VERY difficult to train, although she was definitely physically able to do it she just wasn't willing. My second was VERY easy, once she was physically able. Every kid is different. Prizes/rewards can be a great tool. With my youngest, stickers worked wonders. I would give her one sticker every time she used the potty, and one extra if her pull-up was still dry. Good luck!

Potty training is definitely not easy. My daughter was 2 months shy of 3 when she fully potty trained. The best advice I received was from my mother (who potty trained 4 girls!) She says, when mom is ready, it never happens...when child is ready, it happens almost instantly. WE were ready when she turned 2, SHE was ready at almost 3. My advice to you is to take a break from it..keep the training potty and panties or pullups close by...but don't push any of it. She will let you know when she is ready.
If you want to start talking about it in a fun way, my daughter loved the book "A Potty for Me". Good Luck.

I would say she's just not ready. She's only 2, you have plenty of time.

Hi,
We have found it very effective and easy to just set a timer for about every 2 hours and then take her into the bathroom. Hopefully she will get the idea of going on a regular basis.
Good Luck!

#When my grand-daughter was 18 months she was interested but that didn't last long, my daughter just let her be..She knew what she had to do and I told my daughter when she's ready it will be a piece of cake , and what do you know ...last summer when she transitioned from the toddler area to what she calls the big school she was more willing (by this time she's 2-1/2)...she will be 3 in Jan. and tells us whenever she has to go,only wears a diaper to bed which probably will be coming to an end soon...so I say just relax a bit and it will come and you will wonder what the fuss was all about..

Good Luck

Wait! LOL She must not be ready if it's that hard. They all get potty trained eventually. :) Wait until she starts telling you she wants to be changed, asking to go...
good luck!

If she is JUST 2, she is probably too young. She really needs to be showing all the signs of readiness before attepmting this.
Is she dry at night?
Does she know when she is going?
Is she really interested in the potty or is it just you that wants her to be trained?
I had 3 girls. The first two trained when they were 2 1/2. I trained them in the summer without any pants. It only took a couple of days. #3 was a different story. She was 3 1/2, but when she was really ready it truely took ONE DAY! I have always thought it is a matter of who is training who, if you start too early, it just lengthens the time.
If she is showing all the signs of readiness, I would start with cute panties...("don't pee on Tinkerbell"), NO PULL UPS and be consistent...NO DIAPERS EVER, a potty chair, a set up reward system with great excitement from Mom when she is successful, talk about what big girls do, and alot of patience. At just 2, she is still a baby and might not be ready even though she can talk about it, doesn't mean she is physically ready. She'll get it!
