We are having my sons birthday party at a kids craft place. It will be the owner and a helper working the party, do I tip them at all? I didn't think you had to but saw on a completely different business (still crafts though) website that gratuity wasn't included. The place I booked didn't say anything about tipping and I felt too odd asking about it. Does anyone know if you are suppose to tip birthday party places?

It is up to you depending on how much you are paying and how involved they are. If you threw an extra $15 onto the total that would be fine IF they are doing a phenomenal job. If service and the experience are mediocre don't even consider it. I find most times people are charging enough for the services so why should I bother. I know bad attitude but businesses get you coming and going these days.
It's never just a flat fee anymore is it?! ;) I would say that if you think they did a good job and they are actually being helpful to you and/or the party goers, then yes, tip them. If they just sort of supervise and tell you where to go, I'd say a tip is not necessary. It's hard b/c you are paying the place and so you shouldn't "have" to tip them, but anymore it's hard to say what is the norm. Years ago I used to work at Bath and Body Works and we did some super fabulous kids parties, which certainly isn't the thing you think of from BBW, but we did it during our closed times, anyway, a lot of people tipped us b/c it was sort of a "special" thing, so if parties isn't this place's norm, then yes I'd say go ahead and do a tip. Anywhere from $10-20/person is probably generous.
I worked for a bowling alley at one point in my life doing a birthday hostess job. They did pay a waitress wage because they in turn called it a waitressing type of job. (Some birthday hostess were waitresses also) So we got paid below minimum wage with the hopes of receiving a tip from the birthday party. This is a much different scenario but just thought I'd put my 2 cents in.
So I don't think it would hurt to tip your birthday hosts if you feel they did a good job.
For my son's 3rd birthday, I didn't ( didn't realize it was proper etiquette). For his 4th birthday party, I did... Their were 3 girls, I gave them 20 each... I think a lot of people don't realize that they should tip when it's held at a place.. Partly because it's so expensive to throw it at a facility.. Just for his parties alone, it's 400-500 for 2 hrs... I say yes tip IF YOU LIKE their performance with helping during the party.
I would say yes tip them if they do a good job.If they don't do a good job don't tip them....
I usually tip around $20 each, unless there are more than two people helping.
never occurred to me to tip....to me, they're doing their job!
It would be nice to tip the helper, I've done that. Good old fashioned etiquette states that owners of business establishments of any type do NOT get tipped. They get all of the profits of the business.
If they do a great job and you are fully satisfied with the party, I would tip just as you would normally and I'm sure the owner will give her portion to the helper which is what my husband and I do who is self employed, or just tip the helper.
