Do you tip when you have a photographer come to the house for a photo session? What's the correct protocol?

If you pay them I wouldn't.

I worked independently as a photographer and didn't charge so in that case tipped that would be appropriate.

I don't. I am paying them for their service - no tip necessary. If they didn't build it in to the cost of the photopackage, that is their poor planning.
hope that helps.

Nope. I've never tipped. They are charging me for professional services. They are their own boss, they charge what they want to charge. Just like, you're not supposed to tip the owner of a hair salon if they do your hair.

Agreed! I don't tip, since they charge what they are willing to be paid.

I am a photographer and I never expect my customers to tip me. Sometimes friends will just because I don't ever charge my family or friends, but I never expect it or ask for it.
