I have hypothyroidism, and while I'm not a doctor I know that sometimes your blood levels can be within the normal range, and you can still have symptoms. My blood levels are on the low side of the normal range, closer to hyperthyroidism than hypothyroidism, but I still have symptoms of hypothyroidism, even though I've been on the medication (levothyroxine) for years. I had radioactive iodine though, because I had Grave's disease.
I think if you've had symptoms of hypothyroidism, it couldn't hurt to see a doctor again and have it re-tested. Make sure you find out what your actual levels are, though, because sometimes if they're within the normal range, they'll just tell you that you're fine, but if your number is at the high end of the normal range, you could benefit from medication. I've met a lot of people who weren't diagnosed because they were technically in the normal range, but when they took the medication and lowered the number a bit, they felt much better.
I hope that helps, Good luck! :-)
