My 1 week old had thrush. My oldest never had it, I'm not sure how she got it, but she has the white tongue and white patches in mouth. She eats fine, and takes a passy... She doesn't seem to be in pain, when she's awake she's fine and she sleeps good. Tomorrow is memorial day so pedi is closed. Should I go to the hospital. Or will she be fine to wait till Tuesday?? I am boiling her nipples and bottles, I m not breastfeeding. thanks.

What can I do next?

we have an after hours pediatric clinic at our hospital. they treat ear infections strep throat and such minor problems.. call your local hospital and see if they have such a clinic.

our clinic only charges about $50 for the visit (just the same as the dr charges) you are in and out in an hour..

much better than the er.. it really isnt life threatening .. but in a baby that young.. I always err on the side of caution.. at least call the dr and see what they say.

I suggest that she'll be fine until Tuesday as long as she's comfortable. You could call the hospital advice nurse to be sure.

When my oldest had thrush the doctor couldn't fit us in and encouraged us to go to Prompt Care. Is that an option for you? I'm guessing it's not going to be a huge problem if you wait, but I'd call the doctor (call the doctor's office in the morning and talk to the nurse or doctor on call) and see what he/she says. You'll feel better knowing what your doctor thinks you should do.
