Thinking of Switching Doctors

I really like my daughter's Pediatrician, she is great with her and has been with my daughter since she left the hospital. But, I have some concerns with the way they handle the practice. I have been in Florida for about 3 and a half years now and I have never seen doctor's office run the way I see them run in Florida. One problem with my current Ped. is the office hours, they don’t open until 9, they are closed between 12 and 2 , they close early on Thursdays and they are closed on Fridays. I don’t know how they ever see any patients. I try and take the earliest appointment possible, which is at 9, but don’t end up leaving until 11. I don’t know about their other patients, but I have a job. My other problem is, my daughter was extremely premature, and gets Synergist shots every month. The Dr's office used to call the day before they wanted my daughter to come in to get the shot, until I told them that I needed at least 3 days prior notice to schedule my work day. Now they don’t call at all. I don’t mean to drag on, but am I being unreasonable or too persnickety by having these concerns?

Also, I am looking for a new Pediatrician in the Altamonte/Eatonville area or any other are for that matter that’s close to Altamonte. Any referrals or comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try Richard Rodriguez at Sunshine Pediatrics. ###-###-####
He's treated my kids for almost 6 years now. He's right where Maitland Blvd and Maitland Avenue meet, and I never, ever wait to have my kids seen.

Hi A.,
I can understand your frustration. Try the peds office at the Sportsplex off Maitland Blvd. I have been taking both my kids their for over 6 years and the office staff and the doctors! They always have 'sick' appts everyday. They start around 8:30 and Ibelive till 5 M-F and some Saturdays I believe.

I love my daughter's pediatrician, Dr. Gayoso, at Central Florida Pediatrics in Lake Mary. There are 5 doctors in the practice so we are usually seen quickly and on time. Their address is 735 Primera Blvd, Lake Mary, FL 32746 and the phone number is ###-###-####. Good luck!
