Hi everyone,
I will have 2 weeks off work in December. I'm looking for suggestions on what to do with my 10 month old other than hang out at home or go to the park. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

Here's some stuff I do with my boys that are relatively inexpensive:
* Irvine park has a small zoo for $2 per person admission and kids under 1 are free. They also have a train ride for $3 per person and I think kids under 1 are free, too.

*Hulaballoos clubhouse has open playdays in the mornings. Free for adults, and kids under 1 are free if there is a paying child ($6). There is a toddler area that your son would love!

* The Pacific Marine Mammal Center rescues seals and sea lions. They give tours and they are FREE!

*The La Habra Children's Museum is a hands on kids museum where they can touch everything. Admission is $7 for adults and kids under one are free.

*The Santa Ana Zoo is a cute small zoo with a playground and a train ride (for $2, I think). Admission is $6 and kids under one are free.

I hope you and your son have some good quality time together!

Hi,
Long Beach Aquarium... my babies LOVED it. I did too. I still remember standing with my son, about 9 months (then) watching schools of fish circle and shimmer. He was mesmerized. We both were. I don't remember the fish that well; I remember every nuance of his expressions as he watched them, though. Good stuff. :-)

Hi,

You can go to the zoo and try going to Gymboree. My 12 month loved Gymboree - I took her last weekend. She also loves animals, too. There is a petting zoo in Moorpark - I haven't been there yet but am thinking of going this weekend. Also, in Long Beach at night around the canals - the houses are decorated beautifully and I am sure he will love all the lights and decorations. Have fun.
