Does anyone know of a good place to take little ones to introduce them to theater, musicals, and dance? I am looking for a show, not a place for my kids to take lessons. I was once told about a place that had a lunch and show but I forgot what it was and am unable to find it. Any other suggestions would be great too. I am looking for pretty young kids...3 and 1yr. Thanks!

What can I do next?

In Mesa there is a theater called Broadway Palms located on the Southeast corner of Higley & Brown. They perform a lot of plays and musicals for adults, but they also have special performances for kids as well. Recently I heard they had put on a musical version of Disney's Mulan. While I have not attended one of the children's performances, Broadway Palms has a very fun cast that interacts with the audience and really make you feel part of the show. I am sure they do the same with the younger audience too. Most performances have the option of a ticket for the pre-show meal and the show or just a ticket for the actual performance. The food is not amazing, but it is good.

Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert is I believe right now showing Cinderella on Saturday afternoons for children. That is a marvelous theatre in the round experience.

Phoenix Theater and Greaspaint both have GREAT childrens shows. Cookie Company - at the phoenix theater even does pre-show crafts ect depending on the show. I know both the artistic directors at each theater and they are fabulous!

Also, the lunch place is Lunch at the Herberger.... but they dont always do childrens shows - My recommendation - COOKIE COMPANY at the Phoenix Theater!!
