First of all, it's really nice of you to offer to make her food. I'm sure she would appreciate it, but why don't you just ask her??!
My sister- in -law will be giving birth very soon [ she has a 4 year old ] and I was going to make her food so she can just relax with her family when she comes home with the baby but she is more of the eating out type and I kinda think she's not going to eat the dinner/lunch and I really can't afford anything else. PS and I don't want to take her 4 year old ..
SO I decided to make dinner for the Grandparents they have been working so hard in taking care of the 4 year old and my 1 year old while I'm in school, BLESS HER SOUL

how about a "middle of the day" snack like a fruit tray or some nice cookies to nosh on at night after an "outside" meal?
Dear C., What a nice idea! I hope she appreciates what ever you do. I gues a gift card to Applebees(has a takeout) might be OK. Grandma Mary
Why offer something you don't think your SIL will appreciate anyway? If you are thinking food you are at least going to spend $20. So go to Babies R Us and buy a nice coming home outfit and that's it. She has a hubby he can order out , cook or take her to a resturaunt. Good luck. A. B.
