Overall the patch was good for me. The only thing I did have was a super long period... It wasn't heavy, but just dragged on for 7 days.
Good luck
Is anyone using the patch - orthoevra I believe it's called? Can you share your experiences with it please.
-Do you actually get spotting during the month?
-What are other side effects?
-How quick does it start working...as soon as it's on ?
Thanks!
Thanks for all the input. Deciding against the patch after all of my research. Off to research option #2...abstinence...just kidding.

Mine never stayed on. I ended up having to put a new one on before it was finished so I called my doc and said just give me back my pills! I am a faithful pill taker--it is no big deal for me to have a daily pill-lighter periods too. But other people I know love it. I say give it a try! Good Luck! :)
I conceived my first child while on the patch. I had no side effects from it though=)
I used the patch for 3 years, and never had any problems with it. I loved it because I did not have to remember to take a pill. Mine did sometimes come off before it was due to come off, but I got a couple of sample boxes from my doctor as backup when I lost one.
i liked it i knew when i was going to start, my menstral was not heavy, i did not have many cramps, and from what i understood from the doc is that is starts working when you put it on and it really does stay on all week. i don't think i had any side effects from it though. if you can't remember to take a pill and don't want anything inserted in you then to me i think it is a good one.
When I used the patch, for some reason I could never get the darn thing to come back off. It was like trying to get the biggest most painful bandaid off! Every woman is different though. I haven't heard many who've had my same reaction. I only used the patch for 2 weeks because of this problem so I can't really explain if I had any bad side effects from it. The 2 weeks I did take it, I didn't have any problems besides what I mentioned.
Good luck to you! I know how hard it can be to find the best Birth Control.
Never had the patch, but have always been on the pill for over 10 years (except when pregnant with my son). I decided this year I'm tired of taking the pill. I went to the dr recently for my annual, and I'm going to switch to the Nuvaring. Its only once a month as well. I have a friend who uses it and loves it. My Dr. said she has alot of patients on it and they love it too. Will start it next week after the pill pack is gone!
I had the patch and it peeled off at the edges, but for the most part stayed on. I had to get off it, though, because I thought the side effects were horrible. The patch made my boobs VERY sore. Wasn't worth it.
Like anything else, side effects are different for everyone. I used the patch for 6 months. It was great as far as putting it on & forgetting about it til the next week. You wear it for 3wks & off the 4th wk when ur to have ur period. I began the 4th month with severe cramps, heavy period, sore breast, lower back ache, leg cramps (weird) & headaches. I did not have spotting during the month. U have to be very careful not to let the little ones come in contact with them. Good luck in ur search! I hope this helps.
I was on the Patch for 3 months only because we decided to try to get pregnant and was pregnant by the next month. I never had any problems, no severe cramping, no heavy periods, never had problems w/it coming off.
Good Luck

I tried the patch for a little while - it irritaded my skin under the patch and would peel up at the edges. I am on Nuvaring now and love it - hope this helps! K.
