Before you use the appliance you should spray it with Pam.
To get into those tough areas you can use an old toothbrush
I know, I know, I HATE it when people dont put a descriptive subjet header.
But I just didn't think anyone would aswer me if i asked how you clean the little tiny nooks and crannies out of your quesadilla maker or waffle maker. I'm also unsure of wether or not to spray the surface with pam first or not.
so do you clean your small appliances while they are hot, when they cool and with what???
thanks so much and sorry again for the ambiguous titile.
thanks, sounds like a lot of work. I was mostly worried about scratching it and also rinsing with out immersing it.

If I answer do I get a million dollars??!!
How about setting aside a toothbrush just for cleaning these items?
BTW, I liked your title! Funny! :)
I guess when they cool, something soft like a scrubbing sponge, maybe q tip in crevaces. maybe a butter knife with a paper towel wrapped over it so it doesn't scratch but does get into cracks. I would think you do spray it with Pam but some have non stick surfaces so you don't need to, it should have said that in the directions.
Q-tips. dipped in cleanser
LOL, I'd answer but I don't know.

I use Pam on mine even tho it's a non stick waffle iron. It looks a little gross tho, sometimes you just cant get the grease off. I think it's endearing to see a used piece of kitchen equipment, it means you EAT ;)
Use a little scrub brush on it, and it usually works best when it's still a little warm after use.
I try to clean them when they are warm. If not, I usually pull the small appliance as close to the kitchen sink as possible, unplugged of course. Then I lightly spray it with water, and let it sit for a bit. Then I use a mesh scrubbie with lots of hot water and soap, and scrub it up. If there is some cooked on food on it, I just keep repeating those steps till it comes off. You could also use a toothbrush on it if it's a waffle maker to get into the little grooves.
