There is a book by Greenspan, which is very good- I think it is titled "The Child with Special Needs". It deals primarily with children with autistic spectrum disorder.
Forgive me for my hasty decision to stop using such a helpful site.
I really look forward everyday to writing and read reply or personal requests.
Yesterday, I was feeling pretty bad. I made a judgement call and decided to let you all know what had happen to one of the writer.
Today, I am doing much better because of the wonderful people out there in MamaSources community. I just want to thank you all for being so wonderful to me in my difficult time in the a.m. yesterday.
I am extremely grateful for all your support. Maybe, one day you will have the same thing happen. And I will be supportive back to one of you.

This site lists support groups....sometimes talking and meeting with other moms with a child with similar challenges helps more than anything. You have a HUGE load when you live with an individual with Autism. Good for you for reaching out to improve your understanding of your daughter's needs.
On a lighter note, have you read "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time" ? It is fictional but written by someone who worked with children with Autism. I loved the book and was amazed at the thought processes described in the book. If you have not read it, you would get more from it than I did I am sure. It is by: Mark Haddon.

Hi S.,
These centers are amazing. My daughter has sensory processing disorder and this therapy has done wonders for her.
I would love to hear your wisdom on how you have dealt with all the trials and tribulations involved with a special needs child.
God Bless

Try this book:
Behavior Management at Home by Dr. hartvey Parker
The only place I've found it is this store. They have an online and paper catalog. www.addwarehouse.com
Yes, ADD is in the title but they have lots of resources for aspergers, autism and other developmental disorders.
Good Luck,
D.
Our friends own a center that is called Behavioral Innovations in Dallas. They are really wonderful and work with children with autism all day long. You can drop them off and they work with your child during the day.
Check out www.Mannatech.com and www.glycoscience.org and www.glycoresources.com Also, information meetings on the products and the company, Mannatech, are every Tuesday night @ 7:30 pm in Coppell. Those with Autism have had FANTASTIC results taking the glyconutrients and vitamins, which Mannatech provides.
Please call if you would like more information.

S., Don't give up on this site. This woman is obviously having problems too and is very frustrated about it. Some people just feel that they have a right to "correct" people all the time. Please don't take one response and judge the whole site on that. I was told once that when something or someone is more good than bad, then it or they are worth it. We all make mistakes by offending when we didn't even realize we were doing so. When we take offense, we do just that. We take it, they don't give it. When it is in words only, then what we really mean does not always communicate. Please give this site another chance. :)
