There is a weird fever-y thing going around. My son just had it for the second time. He's 8. And his little cousin has had it several times in the past few weeks. Fluids, fluids, fluids!
so since yesterday morning my 1 yr old has a fever ranging from 99 to 102 degrees. no runny nose no cough or other symptoms rather than tired looking eyes.
he has 2 new bottom teeth currently coming through. he doesnt wanna play he just wants to be held and relax. (hes with the sitter today :( ) anyways...the dr said she couldnt tell unless being seen. but if theres no other symptoms of a sickness coming on what do yas think??
did ur kids have these happen when teething?

I wouldnt sweat it. My kid has that with teething. I never get excited unless the fever is over 103 IF there are no other symptoms. however I watch my kid pretty close and mine usually will have a cough(during her sleep etc) and then I take her in even with a low grade.
Best advice...follow your instincts..if you think there is something wrong, bring him in.
A fever means his body is doing it's job and fighting whatever it is. Be sure you keep him hydrated or the fever will rise and as it rises he will want to drink even less. If he continues to not act himself and run the fever, you may want to take him to the doctor (like tomorrow or Wednesday). If he starts having other symptoms or fever doesn't respond to medication and other things then definately take him sooner.
My almost one year old is also getting her bottom molars and 5 other teeth! Yes, 7 at one time!
She did have the crud that went through....ended up with an ear infection and bronchiolitis....took antibiotics and got over it quickly.
A week and a half later, she ran a 101.3 temp for most of one day. I couldn't get in that day so took her the next morning. She didn't have any symptoms or fever by the DR. apt. The doctor told me to call her if the fever returned that day. It did not.
I suspect teething to be the reason for the fever. I've had to dose her regularly around the clock with Tylenol for the teething. It is obvious when the the 4 hours wear off. :(
Keep check of any symptoms and write down his fevers on a chart and when you are dosing him. If you find yourself at the Dr.'s office, this will be helpful information.
You may also want to make an appt. for tomorrow just in case he does get worse and you want to take him in. Then you won't have to take him to some other doctor or Urgent Care. It has been impossible to get in at our dr.'s office for almost 4 weeks (my oldest had an ear infection, too).
If it continues beyond today i would take him in to the doc...Could be an ear infection. Hope he feels better soon. :)
My son never got a "teething fever" that went that high. I am guessing he is fighting some little bug off.
Could be. But sounds like he is not feeling well. Both my kids just got over having a virus and I had it too. My oldest and I had a sore throat and high fevers….like 101-103.8. My youngest just had the fever. No other symptoms. Fever lasted a WEEK. MY oldest had it 1st and I took her to the docs a few days in. She said it needs to run it's course (no drugs), but to bring her back if the fever is still there in 4 days. Ugggg. I got an antibiotic when I went in. And I did not even bother taking my youngest to the docs when she finally got it.
Bottom line, it COULD be an airborne virus :(
I think he is sick.
Not teething.
When you say " tired eyes", are they swollen?
