We used carrots when the kids were yound it gave just enough flexability offered vitamins retained its shape and temperature.
Our pediatrician was deeply opposed to oragel (numbing agents in general) due to if it numbs the gums it numbs the throat possible causing choking with out being aware of the potential risks involved.
We also used the baby tooth brush starter set it came with a nubby the graduated to a real toothbrush there were like 3-4 stages in the package i believe it was a gerber brand NUK at the time but again 12 and 15 years ago but i again saw them when my friend just had a baby. Walmart is where I was then but i am sure target sells them as well as do most drug stores if you can not find them have the store do a special order it does not cost anymore. Seems like I saw them in with the toothpaste isle with the baby toothpaste w/o floride and also in the baby hygene isle they are hard to find just ask
good luck getting your peace back i am sure the little one is exausted as well ya might want to try the baby massage lotions to try to calm in other ways to try to divert attention from the mouth to the relaxation in other parts of the body
Tylenol is a pain med but has no anti inflamitory I would use ibuprofen (baby Mortin, advil ect...) it can be more pricy but will help with the swelling its all worth a try
try the pediatrician as they might be able to give an oral pain med to help get through this time
let us know
