My daughter is 15 months old and we are experiencing some difficult nights with teething. My son (who is 3) had his ups and downs with teething and not sleeping at night and what not, but my daughter is just taking it to the next level. For example, she screamed for about an hour last night - I went in finally and rocked with her for about 15 minutes and she fell asleep. But only for about three hours, was back up by 1:45am and neither of us were back asleep before 5:30am!
Now I have been through all this before, however it just seems like my daughter is upping the anti here. My husband and I have tried a number of things and last night it came down to taking her in the car for a drive. But I don't want to do this everytime. So I was just wondering if anyone had any other tricks that I haven't tried yet! Thank you in advance!!
I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their help! Actually we had tried the teething tablets before and they did not work. But this time we tried them and she slept thru!! Now I am not assuming that we are out of the woods yet, but at least I know of another tactic to use! Thanks again for the help!!
Have you tried Hyland's teething tablets? It might be worth a shot if you've exhausted all your options.

Go to the drug store and get some teething tablets down the baby aisle. They help the teeth break through the gums easier and it's not as painful and try keeping tylenol in her.

My sister just went through two-three weeks of the upper teeth coming in on her 9 month old...she was saying the same thing! She couldn't find anything either sorry!...My Fav. (more like least fav. hehe) advice for teeth "Rub some Jack Daniels on their teeth. It always worked for my kids" :) Merely know there is a light at the end of the tunnle...those teeth have to come through at some point!
try giving her Highlands teething tablits. they are all natural and will ease her disconfort and help her fall asleep. Try a dose of baby tynlenol or motrin. give her a cold wet wash cloth to chew on or a peice of frzen banana or orange. It will help releive some of the pain and swelling. DO NOT give baby oregel. it helps to numb, but the benzocain in it will toughen up the gum tissue and make it even harder for the tooth to break the surface.
I just wanted to let everyone know about teething tablets. Now, before I let you know this, know that I did use the tablets, and still endorse them. They say they are "all natural" and they are, but being a chemist I want everyone to be aware, this is a drug. They have belladonna in them. It's natural as are other toxic chemicals. So, give what they recommend and consider it a drug like any other (meaning be careful for interactions/allergic reactions). Great stuff though. Works wonders. I would avoid tylenol and try ibuprofen (it's a little easier on the stomach) although in my opinion not as good for pain. Sorry that you are up at night. A few days seems like forever.
I'm not big on medication, but there is some homeopathic teething tablets out there that work wonders! Both my kids were intense teethers. We tried everything from cold, slightly frozen washclothes, to tylenol. Those homeopathic tablets were the only things that really seemed to work.
My son is 21 months and going through a similar problem. When he wakes up screaming I give him Tylenol or Motrin and then put Baby Orajel on his gums where the teeth are coming in. He will then usually go right to sleep. Sometimes I need to rock him for a minute. Last night he got himself worked up pretty good so we gave him some warm milk to calm him down and he went right back to sleep.
