I want to purchase some over the counter teeth whitener but am overwhelmed by the selection and cost. From what I have checked out it ranges from like $15 to $50. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what works best, is easiest and most affortable? I do not have much time to devote to this so I need something that does not require a lot of time.

Thanks

What can I do next?

I had my teeth whitened using a tray and gel from my dentist several years ago right before they came out with all of the over the counter strips. My hygenist explained that it seeps through to the "dentin" which is the soft part inside the hard enamel of your teeth, which is why your teeth feel sensitive when you use it. It's long lasting, but you do have to use it daily and avoid things like coffee and tea during the duration of use. But I can tell you that just using baking soda (just pour a small amount in a cup and dip in a wet toothbrush to make it pastey) works to remove surface stains and will whiten and brighten your teeth temporarily so if you need it to attend a special event that might be a good option to use a couple of times a day for a week or so before the event

i used the crest white strips and they worked. Not mega wattage white smile but removed some yellowing from coffee drinking. My aunt has the most beautiful white teeth you have ever seen in real life (competes will celebrity teeth) and she uses the crest white strips. More then I do I am sure. Watch for things onsale and clip or search online for coupons. I got mine crest strips buy one get one free. A friend wanted to try too so she paid half. Worked out nicely for our first try. Now I know they work for me so don't mind spending the extra.
Hope this helps. :)

Hi, I was in the same boat...it's overwhelming with all the different choices.
I tried most of the Crest Strips and didn't see much improvement. I've tried Rembrandt toothpaste and some goopy gel that went into mouth guards for 20 minutes a day. They all made my teeth very sensitive. I have found that just brushing with a baking soda and peroxide paste that I make myself at home works very well. I can use it daily, twice a day, and my teeth aren't sensitive. And it's MUCH cheaper! I'd give that a try...I don't know how it will work for you as you said you don't have a lot of time. If you're in a time crunch you can always go to your dentist and have it done. Hope I helped a little bit ;).

If you can stand the taste, mix some baking soda and some peroxide into a thick paste and brush with it for several minutes. Its so cheap, and I noticed a huge difference in just a few days. Good luck.
