is their a dental school near you.. sometimes they do it for 70% less.... check it out.. you might find a college nearby that does this...
Hi, Moms! I need your thoughts on dental work- I have a bridge that never got permanently sealed put in June 2008. I had the work done when I was pregnant, then I had my daughter and life went crazy and I just never went back to get it permanently sealed - HUGE MISTAKE! Well, now one of the teeth is a cavity and I will need a root canal and a whole new bridge, at another $2400.00!! I don't have have that kinda money really! But I can do a Partial denture (flipper) for $1000.00! Now, my budget says go with the partial but I need opinions on having a partial.

Hi Rea,
I highly suggest Dr. Gonzales at ###-###-####. Call Andrew and tell him M. said to take care of you.

I am pretty sure when my dentist thought I MAY need a root canal that he spoke of drilling right through the bridge and then patching it.....something you might want to ask about....?
I dont have any advice except do not go to a dental school. You do not want to play around with your teeth.
The flipper will make you crazy!!
Have you considered an implant? They don't cost as much as they used to and you'll have a "real" tooth in there that you won't have to worry about at all.
Does your dental insurance cover part of this? If not, ask for a discount. All dentists have a discount if you don't have insurance. It's not something they talk about, but the price will usually come down if you ask. :-)
YMMV

I would check for a cheaper dentist or see if you can negotiate with one and get the new bridge. A flipper is sort of a temporary thing that never stays in and should be given to you.I can't believe they would charge you $1000 unless they are different than they were about 20 years ago. Perhaps you can train up your child to want to be a dentist. Our whole family needs dental work and so far we haven't found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow to pay the greedy dentists who are in their profession for "big bucks" - - my opinon.
