I'm looking for a doctor who specializes in adolescent medicine. Considering birth control options for my teen daughter. Could someone suggest a doctor in the Mansfield/ Arlington area?

What can I do next?

I don't know any right off hand, but I just wanna commend you for adressing the issue before it's too late. Good luck. I would opt for the Norplant if they still do it. Lasts for 5 years.

Any good OBGYN will be able to help your daughter. Planned parenthood is good, that is where I used to go as a teen. She can also simply see your regular OB.

We see our pedi. I purposely chose a female pedi so that my daughter could have a Dr to confide in if needed.

As for bcp, it is good to be proactive. My daughter has horrid cycles and non stop bleeding. She tried the pills you take for 3 months and then have a period and still didn't stop bleeding much. We are switching to a new pill with different hormone starting Sunday.

That said, she knows she is on the pill for her cycles but at the same time, I like knowing she is on the pill "just in case".

Good luck adjusting to it.

We go to Piga Primary Care in Frisco. Dr. Naomi Piga is awesome as is Dr. Capote-Piga

I went to a all female staff at the USMD building. I can't remember the name though, but they were nice. On a side note, I used Dr. Pickel for years and wouldn't recommend him.
