Hi Ladies,
I was wondering if someone could give me some ideas on what to buy my 13 month old daughter's teachers at school? Tomorrow (Thursday) will be her last day for this year. Last week was Teacher Appreciation week but I was a little low on money. So I wanted to give them something nice on her last day. Any ideas would be great! Something not too pricey please.
Also, since there will not be any Mother's Day Out for the summer my daughter's teacher has offered to watch her during the summer. She said I could come to her house and take a look. Question is, what should I be looking for? This is my first time with something like this and I want to be sure I get this right. Again, any suggestions would help me out a lot.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

K. , she would probably love a gift card to Chilis or PeiWei or a good restaurant to treat herself to a good lunch or dinnner! I would see if she has references and check for things like cleanliness, toys, safety issues, dogs, pool, things like that but references for sure! You might do a google search and see what the state recommends! Good luck! J.
I was a Kindergarten teacher before my kids were born. I would have loved a gift card even if it was $10 to Chili's or somewhere. You could get an appetizer or dessert that you wouldn't normally order with that. I always liked when my kids brought me flowers too - the kind they hand you and give you a big hug with. You don't have to spend a ton and have them delivered for sure. Even roses or Jasmine or something from your yard or a friends. Esp. when they smell really good. Another good one could be lunch one day during the last few days - like McDonald's or Subway even - nothing fancy - they don't have time for that but just something that hasn't been in their lunchbox since that morning is great!! Hope this helps.
My friend is a teacher and every year she comes home with about 40 dollar store mugs, candles and knick knacks. She usually gives them away as she just gets overwhelmed with the gifts.
Of course she appreciates them, but... you know!
I guess a little cheap gift card would be nice, but I think a Thank You card would be just as sweet and she would probably appreciate it.
As for the home daycare type things to look for, just make sure the place is child proofed well, no big aggressive dogs or cats, a nice and safe area to play. Since she is a teacher, she probably has everything down just right with good activities and snacks, but you never know, I've known some pretty scary day care teachers! Make sure you feel comfortable there, check your gut feelings.
My very good friend is a teacher and she said the best gift is a gift card. Any amount is fine. If you are wanting to spend more, a restraunt gift card would be good. As little as $10 would get her a couple of trips to Starbucks.
