Target Brand of Formula

Two of my kids have used it and loved it! Both had a slight constipation issue right at first but then did fine, my really picky 6 month old switched at about 5 months no problem.

We dont have a Target within 45 miles, but I tried many 'Sensitive' formulas before I found one that my first twin would not throw up. It was the Parents Choice (Walmart brand). A little over a year later I made an apointment with a Ped. Gastroenterologist for my daughter. I was tired of the pediatrition saying it was reflux. Every three or four days she would vomit what looked like the whole days worth of formula up. Turns out she is allergic to milk! The GE told us that the reason she didn't throw up everyday was that the PC Sensitive had the protein particles broken down into smaller part to make it easier to digest, but when her system couldn't take any more- out it came. She is so much happier on Goat milk and she never did have reflux! Even a Plantar Wart on her heal has healed. Turns out it was an outward sign of the internal problems. Try Goat milk. It is the closest thing in nature to Human Milk- so says the Gastroenterologist, my chiroproactor, the people at the local health food store and even the pediatrition!

Yup. It was fine. There was a period of adjustment when my son got a bit constipated but it only lasted a few days and he didn't seem to be uncomfortble, he just didn't have a BM. I highly recommend the switch...it's way cheaper and just fine! I will also say the texture of the formula is so different than the name brand and it threw me at first, but honestly, I think it's great! I've used it with two kids.

I switched both of my babies to Target formula around 4 months old to save money and it worked GREAT for both of them, not to mention, helped me alot financially!! I would recommend trying it!

I use the target brand for my son and it went well. But like other said it all depends on your child. My first I had on a name brand and when things got tight I tried to switch to a store brand to save money. Well it didnt go well so she wasnt able to switch.
I would buy just one can to start with. Start you child with 3/4 similac 1/4 target, then half and half, and then 1/4 similac with 3/4 target. Do it over a couple of days you dont want to do it too fast.

I think it depends on your baby. My son HATED the Target brand. I tried it several cans of it, to make sure it wasn't a fluke and he rejected it every time!!

You just have to try it to see how your baby reacts. Some kids need to stick to the same thing, some can be switched. I use generic formula with my 2 month old and I like parents choice (walmart) better than up and up (target)

Just FYI, the texture and color are different from the name brands. Generic seems to be a little less powdery and a bit more yellow. It's normal!

Since my boy was my third I was a little more experimental. On regular and soy he spit up all the time, but once I switched to sensitive he did A TON better. I bought sensitive from 3 different stores, including Target throughout his first year, and he handled them all perfectly. It was as if they were all the same. He didn't refuse any, didn't make a funny face when he tried it. So even if they were out of one brand I would get the other brand and he was fine :)

Now I don't know if I would recommend the same for you, but definitely try it. Just be sure to keep a back up of your original formula in case it doesn't work out!
