I would feel more worried about toxins going in my skin than how a dress looks on me. I am sure you are beautiful no matter what, have confidence in yourself but I wouldn't take a chance with that tanning stuff.
hi, does anyone know if it is safe to use tanning lotions/sprays while pregnant? i have a big wedding coming up, im in the wedding party in a pale, champagne-colored strapless dress (!!!), i would feel soooo much better if i could be a little tan. also, i have a big scar across my chest/shoulder area from surgery a year ago, do you know if its safe to use tanning lotions/sprays on that? plus, i have never used any of these products, are there any that are less likely to cause any kind of reaction? i use melaleuca products myself, i would tend to think they are safer, but i dont know. thanks, D.
hi everyone, thanks for all your responses. ive decided to forget about it. i just wanted to do it this once to feel a little better with all these skinny chicks in the wedding party, and someone told me they have sprays that are "just sugar" and are safe, but ive been reading a lot of scary stuff too. considering i buy organic and i try to not even stand in the kitchen with the microwave on, i guess its silly to go put stuff on me that i dont even know what it is. hey, maybe i can get an hour of sun between now and then! either way, its fine. thanks again everyone.

I know that my doctor told me not to go into tanning beds at all. I am not sure if you mean just out in the sun or a tanning bed, however I know all docs usualy say no tanning beds! Just because they don't know i it affects the baby or not.
As for your scar, I had a birthmark removed and it left a huge scar on my back, about 3 inches long! and they told ne to always put sun tan lotion with a high SPF to make sure it doesn't get too much sun because it can cause cancer.
Hope this helps a little.
PS it is etter to be safe than tan.... hee hee hee
I dont think that theres any contraindication in using those sprays during pregnancy. But I would call your OBGYN and just make sure anyway. You can never be too safe. Also if I could suggest, instead of using a tanning thing that you buy at like CVS or something, go to a tanning salon that does the spray on tans and get it done there. They do a really great job and you dont have to worry about bring runny or spotty or orange. Good luck and have fun at the wedding!!!
go get a spray tan at the saloon. Ask for the spray that goes on clear and then colors in. Don't use any lotion on your body of face before you get the spray tan. It will last for a good week if you use a lot of lotion to keep your skin hydrated. they can spray you in just your underwear or with a bra on depending what you need. I am white as a ghost and don't tan, so it is the only way I can get a tan.I am pretty sure that there is nothing in it to harm the baby, just ask!!!! Good luck
I have read it is not safe the lights. If you are getting your hormone line don the from below yourbellybutton... You might make a permanent mark evenafter you deliver. It happend to a friend of mine.
I would use natural sun.
Hi D. hugggssssss, I also use Melaleuca products and love them, I would call business developement and ask them if our Tanning spray is safe for pregnant women..... I hope u find a solution soon , so that you can look all doll up for this wedding...... best of luck
Dee
Yes they are safe. Just don't put it on your breasts because of milk supply. Be careful though...I had a hard time getting it on evenly with all my hormones raging, it looked splotchy.

Hi D.. When I was pregnant with my son, my obgyn didn't want me using anything artificail on my skin, no hair dyes or even to get the acrylic put on my nails like I was faithfully going and having done every 3-4 weeks and tanning was also a no-no. I think it depends on your dr. My girlfriend didn't have the restrictions I had, but then again her pediatrician wouldn't let her use wipes on her newborn - she had to use wet papertowels. My pediatrician thought that was crazy. I would just ask your dr. and see what he recommends for you.
