K.
H. - I am so sorry to hear of this shocking news. It's my prayer that the cancer has been caught early and can be removed & treated for you to have a FULL recovery!
My mom was diagnosed with breat cancer just last year and she goes to Dr. Ron D. Schiff, MD...ofc #:###-###-####, 13601 BBD Blvd, #310, Tampa 33613. He is "old-school", yet very informed on the latest techniques and research. He is very thorough in his exams, takes his time, will explain things in laymens terms when requested, answers all questions, and is not at all quick to remove the entire breast if it's not needed...he works to conserve as much of the breast as possible.
I don't disagree with the other posts about Moffit, but I have heard that you are more of a "number" at Moffit than a "patient" b/c of all the research they do, but I don't have any personal experiences there.
Do not be afraid to get more than 1 opinion wherever you decide to go--YOU need to be very comfortable with the oncologist you choose.
Also - take family with you to your appts. and write down your questions before your visits to make sure you get everything covered.
My prayers for a full recovery are with you & your family.
