My son is 5 1/2 and wants to shower alone. I use to wash my kids together (cuz it's easier), but I have a boy and a girl and he wants a shower now, not a bath. So I let him take a shower, but I put the soap on the scrubby and make sure he washes all his parts (I do his back) and I make sure to put shampoo in his hair and rub it in. I check him before I get him out for suds and then dry him off. But at 6 1/2 he's old enough.

My son is 11 and is still not completely unsupervised or he would get out of the shower after 15 minutes and still not have washed his hair or face. LOL! He did start taking baths "on his own" with just the reminder to wash his hair when he was about 6.

Hi A.,
I let my boys do it for themselves but make sure I check them after they are done. Once or twice a week (planning to reduce the # of days soon) I scrub them well.
My boys are 6.5 and 8 yrs old. Overall, they do a pretty good job.

I hope this will help.
Take care,
L..
