Tailbone Pain? - Blue Earth,MN

I had a really hard delivery with my son who is now 14 months old. The doctor even said he was impressed that I kept pushing because most mothers would have asked to have a c-section! He kept coming out and then back in and they had to use the vacuum to get him out. Anyways, ever since then I have had the worst tailbone pain! I have a desk job so I sit all day long and my butt is in so much pain! Especially when I go to stand up it hurts the most! It is very uncomfortable. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this and what they did about it. Doctor? Chiropractor? Thanks.

What can I do next?

I had the same pain after my oldest son was born. I didnt seek help for it but should of, I would try a chiro and see what they atleast have to say. On a good note my youngest son was an easy delivery and I didnt have tail bone pain with him.

Chiropractor, chiropractor, chiropractor! When I complained about tailbone pain the doctor told me, "if it still hurts in a year come back..." In retrospect I think, what a jerk! I hurt/broke my tailbone delivering my son and it was so, so painful for years (he's three). When I got pregnant again (due in 3 weeks) I finally decided to take the chiropractor advice and the pain is 100% gone! I can't believe it, I lived with so much pain for so long and I wish I would have just bitten the bullet and done it earlier. In fact, I am seeing a chiropractor today to help prepare my poor old tailbone for the next delivery. Wish me luck! And, call a chiropractor today--please don't wait any longer--I don't know why it took me 3 years to seek relief!

Mine went away after about 2yrs on it's own. I was told by my OB that it would've been faster if I'd gone to a chiropractor.

However, at your desk... use a 'hemmoroid pillow'. It helps.

Chiropractor. Mine is a life saver. I had zero pain from carrying twins and he keeps me from having arthritic pain from two car accidents. Dr. want to send you to for xrays, MRIs, specialists, etc etc etc. Chiro. takes one xray, sees where the problem is, adjusts the bones back into proper allignment. You have been in pain with your sacrum or coccyx out for a long time so it may not stay in place permanently after one adjustment. Your muscles and ligaments may need a little retraining, but I'm willing to bet that you will have tremendous relief immediatly after the first visit.
If my T1 or T2 are out of place (usually because I sleep funny and with two toddlers) I can feel immediate pressure release in my sinuses as soon as he adjusts me. I LOVE my chiropractor!!!

I would go to my regular doc first and see what they recommend. I always do that before thinking of chiropractors, as they havent been to medical school.

I feel your pain! Literally! My son is almost 6 and I still have bad tailbone pain from delivery. I would love to hear what others suggest. Haven't tried a chiropractor but probably should.

Definitely see a chiropractor. Mine kept me walking during that last month and after the delivery!

I don't have any permanent suggestions but I personally sit on a travel pillow at work because my tailbone is incredibly painful. You can also purchase a coccyx pillow which will relieve the pressure on your tailbone. This website also has some great DIY pillows.
