Tai Kwan Do or Karate Recommendations

Hello Moms,

I had to take my kids out of daycare for the summer to save money but now they are bored and driving me nuts! We can afford something that is $100 a month, not $100 a week like day care. My 7 year old son is interested in taking Tai Kwan Do or Karate. Can anyone recommend a school in the south Arlington area? We need a gentle teacher. My son is defiantly a "lover not a fighter" and not the best athlete. Thank you for any help.

W.

Hi W.,

Just to let you know that Lake Arlington Baptist Church has a Karate program that is on Thursday's at 7pm & Saturdays at 9am. The best part is that it is FREE. You can check out the website at www.labc.com Hope to see you there.

In the arlington area there are several YMCA's that teach karate basics or several other activities.

You really cannot get any better than free, but I do have another suggestion for you. You should try your local community center. I had my girls in karate at the community center and it was super cheap. I think that it was $25 a month and the classes met twice a week. Unfortunately they had to stop going because they changed the class times, and I just couldn't get them there in time from work. My girls really did enjoy it though.
