I am considering a Kindle Fire HD for my Christmas gift but now thinking about ipad (but probably too much $) or Google Nexus 7. I don't travel much and probably will not use for music or movies, would like it for browsing internet/email and reading, as well as camera. Any thoughts?

Samsung Galaxy tablet is my vote. I got one for my birthday in March, my hubby liked it so much he got one too. I use mine for email, internet, reading on my Kindle app, and keeping the kids entertained with Netflix or games as needed.
I have an Ipad ---free from hubby's work, he's in technology. I love it, however, I'm not sure we would spend the money on one. In fact, I have the Ipad because hubby is always trying out other tablets, so he kind of knows what's good, bad, etc.
We are buying our daughter a Nexus. Hubby thinks it's the way to go. Not sure why he likes it over the Fire, but he quickly told me "no" to the Fire --it might have something to do with the Nexus having a lot more FREE apps.
We have an Ipad, a Kindle and a Nook...all 3 being the oldest models and all 3 work well...but if I had to choose I would take the Ipad over all of them any day.
I think you can get a smaller (in Hard Drive GB's not actual size) Ipad for relatively cheap, since the Ipad's are on what, the 3rd or 4th version now??
I have an Ipad and love it. My boys (All three) have ipod touch's and we use the same account and it is nice because we only pay once to download things and we can all share it.
Have an iPad. Absolutely love it. Have a nook but just not the same. I vote iPad all the way. So worth it.
