So my hubby will be home from a year long deployment to Iraq in about 3 weeks! I can't not tell you all how excited I am!!!!! I want me and our 3 girls (ages 4, 2 and 4 months I got pregnant before he left ) to have on matching shirts when we get him from the airport. I was thinking of getting shirts for the girls that say something like, "Daddy is my Hero and I'm his princess" or something about Daddy being their hero. I don't want to put "Welcome Home Daddy" just cause I want them to be able to wear these shirts again. So I was wondering what my shirt should say? Should I do "My Husband is my Hero and I'm his princess" or something else? I was also thinking of putting Deployment Survivor 2010-2011 on the backs of the shirts too. So can you ladies think of a better thing to put on the shirts or is that good? Thanks.

What can I do next?

How about them emblem for whatever branch of military he is in, (Navy, Army etc) then, around the emblem in a circle the words. My Dad is My Hero around the top and Iraq 2010-2011 around the bottom?

BTW Thank you to you and your family for service to our country! I am SO happy he is coming home!

I like the hero/princess idea. But I'd suggest not including "deployment survivor" on the back. That may remind him of comrades who didn't survive their tours. When my cousin returned from Afganistan, the word 'survivor' was a hard one for him hear casually used.

I think they're both cute (deployment survivor and hero/princess shirt). I was going to say My hero wears combat boots but it doesn't say dad in it so I don't know if you wanted that. My hero saves the country and plays tea with me... Maybe the deployment survivor can be your shirt lol and you can do both ideas. How exciting for him b/c he hasn't met his 4 month old except on skype or something if y'all did that. Just remember not to be too crazy.loud, some people react different to deployments but not sure how many y'all have been through either :) Welcome home to your husband and how exciting for y'all :D

Cute profile picture by the way :)

First of all, thank you, your husband, and your kids for the great sacrifices you all make. I am a Navy brat, married to a retired Navy man, and my brother was in the Army and did two tours in Iraq. When my brother came home the first time, we had his picture put on the kids shirts and they said "My JayJay, My Hero." The second time he came home, my daughter got a pink shirt that said "Don't Touch. I belong to my soldier" on there - only because the bond that she has with him is something I've never seen before. My sons had on camo shirts that said "Got a hero? I've got one!"

maybe change yours to queen if the daughters are princesses? :) congrats on the end of your donut of misery! we've still got quite a way on ours! i definitely like the "deployment survivor" on the back idea. maybe do the shirts in a pink camo? i don't know if that's your thing, but i know it's something that you could probably find pretty easy

Check out my friends website... it's www.perfectstitchhouston.com she is VERY resonable and makes amazing, personalized t's etc.. in all sizes. She is very creative and does a great job. The shirts are embroidered so, they won't fall apart or peel. She can even help you with what you could say. Sounds like you have great ideas so far...

Good luck and thanks to you and your family for all that your Husband does for our country!

Good luck and congrats on his return.

How about something that would welcome all the troops home with honor & specify their daddy. For instance:
All the men & women in uniform are our heros, THANK YOU. Specially our dad Lt. John Smith. We LOVE you daddy.
or
We are so very THANKFUL for all the men & women in uniform, specially our dad Lt. John Smith. We LOVE you daddy.

And on the back you could put: Daddy's 1st born angel, & on the 2nd childs shirt, Daddy's 2nd born angel & so on.

For you: I want to THANK all of you for a job well done & bringing home my #1 hero- my hubby Lt. John Smith.

And on your back (if you are religious) MAY GOD BLESS US ALL.

I just used an example for a name.

Good luck on deciding. Please thank your hubby for me for his job well done & may God bless all of you for the sacrifice you make while he is so far from home.
