ETA: I think you mean swollen COLON. As I don't know what a collum is. So this beckons the question - how do you know your son has a swollen colon?

Welcome to mamapedia!!!

How old is your baby? If he's under six months of age - breast milk is best. Formula is next.

i will assume you are taking your son to a pediatrician for check ups. Have you asked this question of your pediatrician? If not, why?

Over six months? Introduce ONE new food at a time - to check for food allergies.

Babies bowels do NOT work like adult bowels, especially when they are young....how many bowel movements does he have now? Daily - every two days? What?

It's very hard to answer this question without knowing more information.

Good luck!

I've never heard of a swollen colon if that's what you're referring to and I've had lots of experience with medical issues. What sort of problems is he having with his bowel movements? Without knowing his age and what his problems are we would have no way of answering this question. Even then, if you haven't taken him to the doctor, that would be my first recommendation.

I googled swollen colon and learned that there is such a thing and it requires medical attention. It can be quite serious. Taking care of it requires much more than a change in diet.

How do you know that your baby's colon is swollen? As a parent, and not a doctor, you wouldn't know this, unless a doctor told you. You need to take the baby to the doctor and explain exactly what is going on so that you can get help.

We don't know how old the baby is, so it's not a good idea for us to give you specific advice here. Please take the baby to the doctor.

Age is a crucial factor in answering this question. Can you ETA (edit to add) anymore details? Does he drink formula? How often does he have a BM? What kind of consistency is his BM?
Does he drink water much? Have you talked with his pediatrician? What things have you tried? Does he have any allergies?
Do you have him all the time or do you share custody, therefore only have partial control over his diet? Does he go to daycare? Are they concerned or able to help? Is he potty training? Does he go to school? Does he hold his BMs?

A collum is a neck.
Do you mean colon?
Why is it swollen?
Babies usually need only formula or breast milk for 6 months.
Then you can try some baby cereal (rice, oatmeal or barley) prepared with formula ir breastmilk. Then a half jar of baby food vegetables. Start with squash or sweet potatoes. Introduce O. food at a time, for 3 days, so you can watch for allergic reactions.
Hope this helps.
