Anyone have a swingset recommendation under $900? We are looking for a new swingset. We have an 18 month old son and a 4 1/2 year old son. I also run a daycare in our home so we want it to be very sturdy.

What can I do next?

Don't know if you have a Mendards by you but we bought a great one there 2 summers ago. I too have a daycare and it's very sturdy and made from solid wood. We bought the "basic" package, I think it was a little over $400, the good thing is you can add to it later. The only negative was we had to stain it but it looks great!

I recommend buying a used rainbow off craigslist. You can get a $4000 beautiful set for around $800-$900. All you'll need to do is take down and set up and maybe put some new sealer on it. That's what we did. My kids love it, and we saved a ton of money.

We actually bought one of those really nice wooden sets and we only paid $100!! How we got it so cheap was we went to one of the local lumber companies that had one of the sets sitting outside and asked them how much they would charge us for the sample set. They told us that once it had sat outside for a year they couldn't sell it for full price, so we asked them to call us when the year was up and when they did it was ours! The only bad part was that we had to wait until they would sell it to us for that cheap. But it was definitely worth it. Even with the new tarp for the roof, and the other additions we made, I think we only have a total of about $250 into it. Good luck!!

I have kids the same age and also run a homedaycare and have included some Montessori ideas. I have chose not to get a swing set because you have to also remember to put a certain amount of sand under it or mulch or rubber padding for licensing which adds to the cost. We have small slides, rocking riders for one and for 4 kids, play house, tee ball, badminton, jumpropes, large exercise ball, hula hoops, small sand box, bikes of all sizes, outdoor art easel, magnifying glasses for bugs, periscope for spying, variety of balls. We try to take a trip to a park regularly for more major climbing and swinging.
I guess that wasn't much help but best wishes for you in your search of a swing set. I would be interested in how you do montessori in your home daycare if you found some time to share what you do. I love hearing how other people are making it work for them.

I suggest looking at craig's list. But if you find something jump on it quick because the good playscapes like Rainbows go super fast. You can get a great deal and there are people you can pay to move it for you!
