Iam really concerned about the swine flu thing as my son who just started school in kindergarten and he is already coughing and sneezing.. with the threat of swine flu iam asking are there any other moms concerned about the kids in school i have a baby at home and iam more worrying about him, the schools have no plan to close this winter or fall.. the vaccine i dono when is going to be available and if its given in October when there is peak of flu season it will start working in December.. means the immunity will set in in December.even vaccinated this year might not even protect from flu
with swine flu deaths in Nevada as well as national level threat iam really worried is there any way that moms can ask to close the schools for this October to December holidays at least and in meantime vaccinate the kids..why do they need to wait until something bad start happening? this might not be a big threat for elders but small children should be protected even if its only a media hype.
pls reply how to cope with the situation before any mishap..............why wait
Tina ,iam not sure if the pharmacist was right the standard flu vaccine doesn't even cover the flu completely yet alone swine flu its a different virus with high mutanty...
i have finally decided to vaccinate my sons against the flu from H1N1
check out the swine flu scam/"epidemic" of 1976... same thing and the vaccines killed more people than the supposed swine flu did (which never existed in the first place) .
AS far as deaths attributed to it... they will label any disease that they don't have a reason for as the swine flu in order to make people panic and run to get the vaccine to fill the deep pockets of the medico-drug companies.

I too have concerns but I just talked to a pharmasist who said the standard flu shot is 80% effective against H1N1 (CDC is not advising ht public of this). So we may all be getting the flu shot this year????
Otherwise I stress to my son wash your hands - make sure no one is sneezing or coughing on you, let a teacher know if you must - and when he/we cough we must do so into our arm.

I'm concerned too since we've had 3 cases of swine flu at my son's daycare. Although that was about a month ago and he's been fine, so I guess we're in the clear for now. My pediatrician told me that the cases of swine flu she's seen have been mild and no worse than the regular flu. My son just got the flu shot last month. I would see if you can get the flu shot for your kids now and of course continue to be diligent about washing hands, but other than that, I wouldn't lose much sleep over it.
