Minneapolis Community Ed has open swim times at some of the schools. St. Paul may have a similar arrangement. You pay for a 8 or 10 week session - very reasonable - and can go during the time slot you've chosen.
I had foot and leg surgery 3 1/2 wks ago, now the Dr tells me me I have to do physical therapy on my own in a pool. If I had known this, I wouldn't have canceled my membership at Lifetime, which just ended Dec 31st. I have called schools, hotels, and the Maplewood community center. Since I can only use the pool at this time (and only 3 days a week, 20 min ea time), I really don't want to pay for another membership to use the whole club. The schools and hotels I called all said no open swimming for the public. It doesn't need to be a big or deep pool, all I can do is walk back and forth the whole 20 min each session. Anyone know of pools around that have open swim time, childcare would be great too, but not absolutely necessary.

maplewood community center has a large pool that mostly adults use. you can pay on a daily basis and it is like $7-8 per day depending on if you are a resident or not. they have childcare, but you need to pay for it.
The Veterans Memorial which is also the Inver Grove Heights Community Center has a $7 a day fee and they do have childcare during select times and does cost a few dollars per hour I think. I'm a member so I get it for free so I'm not sure of their rates. You have to check their schedule as they have Simley High School swimming practices or meets.
How about the YMCA? or you could join the club again? The Shoreview Community Center has a large indoor pool with waterslides etc. How about a family outing?
The Fairview Community Center in Roseville usually has open swim times (costs just a couple $ each time). I don't have the winter bulletin anymore but they have always had open times in the past. You might also want to check with the New Brighton Community Education or Sports and Rec.
