My almost 5yr old is interested in taking swimming lessons. Where is the best place, or any place to take swim lessons. I checked with the YMCA and classes started today, so that is out. Any other suggestions???

Thank you.

I have taken them both at the YMCA and at Holiday Pool and there was a WORLD of difference between the two!!! Check around to find the right one for your kids. I would HIGHLY recommend HOliday Pool but I know those classes fill up really fast, but they go all summer :)

The Y is the best place... they offer many sessions throughout the year, with daytime and weekend availibility.

So you should see when the next session starts and sign up now... my almost 6 year old decided she wanted to take swim lessons in March, and they had a session start in April, but that was full, so we just start this coming Sunday.

Sessions are between 4-6 weeks, depending on the Y itself, but you can check other ones too, to see what thier availability is...

Good Luck!

I know that the Ankeny Aquatic Center offers them for 3 and up but I believe sign ups were last week. They fill up quickly but you may want to call there and check.

I recommend taking him to Dowling! I took my daughter there for several years and she learned SO much! It is one on one, so it would be your son and an instructor. I don't know the number off the top of my head, but it is well worth the money. I wish I were able to now take my son it is that good!
