I want to sign up my kids (3,5,7)for swimming lessons, but not sure where... Has anyone signed up their kids at the plainfield park district or the plainfield ymca? If so how was your experience there?

What can I do next?

I noticed Fry YMCA on 95 th Naperville has a very good Safari summer camp program, join the family plans, we are members for 10years, I'm senior, Silver sneaker program is free, specially if you are Humana medical plan, young family have their own program.
YMCA is very family oriented. many local pools are manage by trained swim coach from Y during summer months.
I don't know much about Plainfield Y.

I highly recommend Delta Aquatics, a program held at Oswego East High School (close to Plainfield). I took my son when he was 3 to the Fox Valley Park District and was not impressed. They were an hour in length and did not hold the attention of the little ones. It was too long. The young girls teaching did not deal well with the young kids. I'm sure they have some good instructors, but the ones we had were just not engaging the kids well. I did take him to the Plainfield Park Dist. when he was about 1 for parent/baby water class and it was fine, but I don't know how long their regular swim classes are. Delta's are 30 min and my son has made much progress in their program. He went from screaming and not getting in the water to being comfortable and doing glides/floats at the level he is at now. They are great at developing a good rapport with the kids.

I have been taking my son the Plainfield YMCA off and on for a year. We are not members of the Y but you can be program members and take classes and I think the charge is 25.00/year and you pay the higher fee seen in the literature. My impression is positive with my sons age (22 months). I have seen how the teachers interact with the other ages and they seem to be interested in helping kids. There is a lot of smiling going on.

I am hesitant with the park district since it is every day for two weeks and that is too much for me.

My daughters attend the Bolingbrook Park District for swimming lessons. I am not familiar with the Plainfield Park District; however, they like the Bolingbrook Park District... I actually think they have learned more than at the Lifetime Fitness.
