the ymca has some cool classes for younger kids. you should check them out and see if the starting times are good for you.
Hi! My son is turning one and LOVES the water. I really want to get him into swim classes or private swim lessons. I live in Westfield, NJ. Any recommendations would be great! Thanks!

I too recommend the Y - It has a great program that progresses with their age. My two daughters have taken lessons on and off (I usually put them in the next class when they hit the minimum age), and they love it. Right before my daughter turned three, she had enough confidence to be in the water with her swim vest without holding on - she is becoming a real fish! I wish you the best - it's alot of fun!
My daughter went through the ISR program which I highly recommend. Their website is infantswimm.com and from there you can look for an instructor near you. I absolutely loved the program, however is very intensive it is an everyday commitment for 6 weeks. I loved it and the instuctor was fabulous. Hope this helps.

Hi C.,
I live in Westfield too. My son is 3 and he has been taking swim lessons at the Y on Clark Street for over a year. I am extremely pleased with their swim program. The director is fabulous and so are the other instructors.
Hi my son was the same way so I found Take Me to the Water Swim School, they are out of NY but offer classes in 3 locations in NJ. I am not sure where Westfield is compaired to there locations but maybe they will work for you. You can check them out online at www.takemetothewater.com. My son loved the Mommy and Me classes and I am looking into doing some lessions on his own this winter. GFood luck and I hope it works for you.
