How do you know your baby doesn't need swaddled anymore? I have been swaddling her since I brought her home from the hospital (only for sleeping) but for the last two days she has been kicking the velcro swaddle wrap off.....
If she's kicking the cover off then she is done with swaddling. One of mine liked it the other one wanted her hands out.

Having a new one is pretty intense. So many things to do and so many things being told to you to do. My best advice for you is listen to and watch your baby. Your instincts will kick in. If baby is not comfortable being swaddled, they will kick it loose. Probably ready to get a bit more space. Go with your gut. Your baby will certainly let you know when they are uncomfortable. The only real need a baby has for swaddling is for security. If your baby will go to sleep without then it is not an issue. Sombe babies like it, others never like it.
Try it with and without, only you will know what works best for you and your baby.
I never swaddled mine, not even in the hospital. If the nurses tried to show me how I just told them not to bother. My kids were happy babies and didn't need it.

We swaddled until 9 months and it didnt hurt our DD any! For awhile she wouldnt be able to go to sleep if she wasnt swaddled but she would break out of the swaddling during the night and be fine. It just depends on the baby.
Do you swaddle all the time or for just sleeping? We stopped swaddling all the time after our daughter was about a week old. After that we only swaddled for bedtime. She slept so much better when swaddled, and we kept swaddling her until she was around 6 months old.
If your baby is sleeping fine and seems perfectly happy being swaddled, then don't rock the boat. If he/she seems uncomfortable being swaddled, then take their queue and go from there. There really isn't a right or wrong answer here. Your pediatrician will probably tell you that by the time your little one starts rolling over or crawling, it's time to wean from swaddling.
I'd say baby is done being swaddeled. My oldest hated it from day one. In the hospital the nurses would swaddle her and she'd squirm and fight until she was free then she'd sleep. My youngest wanted to be swaddled for quite a while. If baby is happiest sleeping without the swaddling then that's the way I'd let him/her sleep. Good luck!!
I have 3 kiddos and they never liked to be swaddled in the hospital they would undo themselves and were much happier that way I tried to swaddle them here at home for a few days but they didn't like it.It all depends on the comfort some like it some don't and the temp. in your home you don't want them to become to overheated or to cold.I have a 2 month old that I use to put in a sleeper with a onsie but she now sweats so much so I ditched it and she loves and sleeps very well in a onsie and pajama pants.FYI babies sleep very well and are ok temp. wise at 65 degrees in their room.I wouldn't keep baby swaddled if she seems uncomfortable sweaty and squirmy after you put her into it and she comes out of it that can cause a suffucation hazard.

We stopped swaddling our daughter after about a month,but I had her in winter. Could be your little one is getting warm. Heat escapes thru the feet and head,so...when Im hot I dont like my feet covered. I also put our daughter in a sleepsack.They make sleeveless,light weight ones for summer.If you havent already invested in one or two,might think about it,for those nights the a/c is on.
Just go with the flow hun..if you are comfortable,likely she is too.
