I bought a bib that said "I love Daddy" on it and put it in a gift bag and gave it to him as a present. It's simple, but it did the trick :)
Okay mommas.
We have been trying to get pregnant (I'm not yet but the trying has been fun). When I do get there I would love some creative way to let hubby know our endeavor has been a success.
Please let me know some creative ways to let hubby know he's going to be a daddy. Thanks.
It's July and I'm not pregnant yet. Almost thought I was but "Sheila" was just late by one day. :-(
Thanks for all of the tips and I will keep you all posted.

I remember the days dreaming of when i'd get to tell hubby about a pregnancy -- we tried for 3 long years before our beautiful twins were conceived! So i had a lot of time to plan that moment!
I came across so many great ideas! But my favorite was (as someone mentioned) to empty his underwear/sock drawer, fill it with diapers and put a Buffalo Sabres onesie on top with a big note saying "Make room daddy, i'm moving in!"... then i'd give him a pile of his folded clothes, ask him to put them away for me and watch him open the drawer! at that time we were in a small apartment and we always talked about how we'd have to really have to work to make the space for a baby... so i thought it was a cute way to tell him.
Then we bought our house, and even though i still loved the drawer idea, i wanted a backup plan... the day i found out, i worked 8am-8pm and he was home all day with my step-daughter so i had no opportunity to set up the drawer!
every month of those 3 years my husband would say to my belly "is there a baby in there?" so i made a sign with crayons that said "yep, there's a baby in here", clipped it to the Sabres onesie and clipped it over my belly to my work shirt but under my coat. When i got home, i made sure my step-daughter was in bed, and went up to him and opened my coat. He loved it... it was such a special moment :)
hey K.....i can tell u what i did when i found out....
i took the test at work, then worked the whole day without telling anyone (extremely long day! maybe the longest day of my life) then went to the hallmark store and bought a blank card....and i taped the test to the inside and i wrote..."thanx for your genes papi, i can't wait to see you in 9 months!!!"
i waited til he got home, we had dinner and i said "bayyy, i got you a little something to say thanx for being so great lately" and as he was about to open it, he said "it feels like a watch" and i couldn't contain myself, i started laughing...then as he was reading it i saw his eyes get bigger and wider, and that smile! i'll never forget it!! we hugged and he was sayin we have to call everyone and i started jumping up n down and he said "no, don't do that, the baby's in there!!" lol it was wonderful! the only day that tops that is the day i saw my baby!!
other ideas i've heard about, is putting a hot dog bun in the oven and asking him to check the oven cause it's been acting uo, and then say oh look theres a bun in the oven...and hopefully he'll get it....=)
the other one was filling his underwear drawer with newborn diapers and attaching a note sayin "you gotta make some room for me"
anyways, were also tryin for our 2nd....so i gotta see what i'll do this time!
good luck! and let me know what happens! -M.
I didnt do this but I always thought it would be a great idea-buy a fathers day card since its around the corner-and when you find out that you are, give it to him-even if its months away from now. Have fun!
I got an ice cream cake and had "Congratulations Daddy!" written on it. I handed it over to him, and he was like, "What's this for? OH!!!"
go to page 2 of the lists on this site... there are 101 posts to this exact same post! :) you are sure to find something there!
I had bought a book for first time dads. I think it was called She's Having a Baby. It took a funny spin on what he was about to go through and watch me go through. Then I wrapped that up with the test stick. :) Another friend wrapped her positive stick up with a bib that said I Love Daddy.
Good luck!!
my husband is a big mets fan, so when i found out i was pregnant i went to the local sports store and got the smallest mets onesie i could find. i wrapped it up and gave it to him. he loved it and she wore it to her first mets game!
I bought a baby monitor, a onesie that I had customized myself, that read That's my Dad! and placed the pregnancy test in the box. I left a message with him at work to come home on time and I had a present for him. I wrapped up the baby monitor, when he opened it I told him it was for us to use because we were looking for walkie talkies to put one in the shop and one in the house for when he's working on stuff out there.
I wrapped the onesie and the test together and taped the test below the part saying that's my Dad!
He was sort of HUH? Then it all clicked in. He was totally surprised and then joked about the walkie talkies not really being his. LOL
