I'm having a surprise 85th bday party for my dad. I’m going to print out some sheets and place them on the tables for guests to fill out. The plan is to gather the sheets and put them in a scrap book along with pictures from the party as a keepsake. I’m trying to come up with a cute idea for the sheet and was going to include some questions for them to fill out and then a few lines where they can put down a favorite memory or sentiment about my dad.

For example: If Russ were going to write a book, it would be titled__________

Any help would be appreciated!

This may be kind of difficult to pull-off b/c there are a lot of "instructions" involved.

I have gone to several parties where the sheets for the scrapbook are sent ahead of time and you bring it to the party with you or mail it to the hostess if you do not plan to attend. It's pricey b/c of the postage, but you could put an enclosure in the invite asking peole to mail, email or bring a letter and pictures to be put into the scrapbook!

For our wedding, in the invitation, we asked guests to bring a picture of the guest with either the bride, groom, or both from any time in our life. I had a table set up at the reception with different scrapbooking supplies and people could glue in their picture and decorate their page with a personal message. It was really neat and even those that forgot a picture left us a message on their page. (we did this in lieu of a guest book). I also like the idea of taking a polaroid and they have a new picture right there to use.

If I can impose what I did for my mother's 80th...I 'wrote' a Chicken Soup for (her name) Soul book. I had all her children (11), daughters & sons in laws, all grand & great grandchildren, close family friends write a story, poem, sentiment about my mother. I compiled them all in a word document & page numbered them (about 91 pages long). At the bottom of each page I put in a quote about mothers. I brought it to an office supply place & had a hard cover put on it & a simple picture I pulled off clipart. It turned out fantastic! It cost me a bit of time and about 20 dollars but it was absolutely priceless!! Good luck with your endeavour!

I like Krista's suggestion, but I also had a thought... Take polaroids of guests as they arrive and create a little guest book with a small photo album and have them write their names under their picture. Hope everything works out for ya :)
