I too am a huge believe in not only Shaklee supplements, but healthy meal shakes, protein shakes, herbs, snack bars, etc...
I don't vaccinate my son (please, no dirty remarks-I've done my research) and so I currently have my son on probiotics to boost his immune system. What else should I be giving him for his immune system?
Hi, so I happen to know that unvaccinated kids have a much better chance of recovering than a vaccinated kid does. Most kids who get vaccinated will end up getting that disease/sickness anyways and a much higher chance of many complications from the vaccine. I know this because it happens in my family and to friends.

Well, generally speaking, a healthy diet and plenty of sleep will boost your immune system as much as it can be boosted. However, if he steps on a rusty nail and comes into contact with tetanus, vitamins aren't going to help. I'm not trying to be a downer, but that's just how it goes...
Probiotics ONLY help the digestive tract.
For general immune health:
Exposure, exposure, exposure (aka let them play in the dirt... a LOT... although if you don't get tetanus shots, that can be deadly especially if you're around horses at all... DO KEEP IODINE & or betadine on hand).
Good nutrition. Lots of nutrient dense foods. Dark colored greens and veggies (avoid iceberg... it's just fiber and water). Trace minerals. The immune system, like the brain is mostly made of fat... so also avoid low fat foods in early childhood.
One thing to do is to think back and research how we kept healthy in days gone by, before immunizations... and in 3rd world countries where immunizations aren't available (Like having bottles of iodine everywhere... bathrooms, glove boxes, etc... to be poured over scratches to try and combat lockjaw/tetanus... warning: not always effective, but better than nothing). Cod liver oil. Avoiding exercise & stress when ill (scientifically proven the whole "stay abed" thing from the Victorians and prior... exercise brings on adrenalin/the sympathetic nervous system... which temporarily shuts down the immune system). It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to stay abed as a kid these days, because schools have attendance policies... but hey. It's good to know.
What you're doing is extremely dangerous... but so is driving. Do know that it is VITAL that your kiddo's stay away from anyone undergoing Chemo... because chemo destroys the immune system... and for other children's sakes to stay away from children under 2, because of their underdeveloped immune system. This isn't a slam... but BECAUSE we have immunizations we've gotten very lax about responsible illness behavior as a society (because most of our illnesses these days aren't deadly). The first no-symptom days are usually the ones where we are the most contagious. Prior to immunizations children (and most adults) weren't allowed near babies (under 2), much less touch/hold them, to help protect them from getting sick. We can take them (babies) out and about in public so much safely BECAUSE most of society is immunized... so when we catch these illnesses they're killed off before they have time to breed and shed. Sequestering infants is no longer common practice, but anyone choosing not to vaccinate needs to be aware of the lives they hold in their hands the same way people used to be. Even before microorganisms were understood... cause and effect clearly was. Babies kept "safe" usually survived, whilst those taken out an about didn't. So please please be conscious and careful of other people's children.
best of luck
Please ignore the downers. You did your research, and other people are just trying to be right with their decisions.
I think you already boosted his immune system by not overloading it with vaccinations! It should be working correctly and you have nothing to fear. Believe it or not, our bodies can fight things like tetnus when our immune systems are healthy (but you already knew that!)
The most important thing to do is take care of his mental health. People get sick when they are stressed or have someone who is stressing them out (like a bully at school). Kids also get sick as a "solution," ever notice how tummy aches can suddenly appear at chore time? So I advise if your son ever does get sick don't overload him with sympathy and toys. When my daughter is sick we don't let her watch a lot of TV, instead she gets quiet time and is allowed to read. We give her love (not sympathy) and take care of her. But we don't make a big deal out of it. She is rarely sick, has announced that being sick is "boring" and is usually up and running quickly.
I think you're fine with probiotics and a good children's multivitamin. Keep him away from too much sugar (sugar brings the immune system down) and try organic foods. Also, remember that the biggest organ of the body is the skin, so the more natural things you can put on his skin (soap and lotions) the better!
Keep up the great parenting!
AFA blue-green algae, spirulina, chlorella, (don't do all 3 at once, at least at first), Vitamin D3 and Sunrider's NuPlus, Alpha 20C and Quinary are the best for overall supplementation...most are actually foods, so are the most superior form of 'supplementation'.
Great for you not vaccinating.

Hi Brandy,
Before you use any supplements, do your research on that also. Most supplement manufacturers don't do any clinical studies on their products.
I use Shaklee. They have more published research than all other companies combined. They are the number one seller of natural supplements. You can find them at http://www.shaklee.net/healthforlife
You didn't mention your son's age. If he is an infant, then just the vitamin powder. Then when he can chew, use the Incredivites and mighty smart.

My oldest I believe has a strong immune system because she was in daycare at 4months old. All my kids are vaccinated, however she was the only one who started daycare that early. The other two did not start until about 15 months.
I really think the exposure helped her, and she did not get sick alot, and does not to this day.
I chose not to vaccinate my girls either and trust that their bodies’ natural defenses will respond the best to diseases. What we do to boost their immune systems is take daily multi-vitamins, fish oil supplements, probiotics, and regular chiropractic adjustments. All of this, of course, in combination with healthy diet, exercise and sleep!! I get my vitamins and supplements from a wholesale wellness company and can show you how to get discounted prices. Send me a private message if you are interested.
