Supernatural Memories from Childhood?

Yes, I'm kind of "stealing" this idea from another post that got me thinking about this. I remembered that I DO have a memory--I'm 26 now and my memory is from when I was under 5 years old (I'm not sure exactly when, I just know that it had to be before I was 5 because we moved when I was 5).

This is my memory: It would happen almost every night (I think--it at least happened several times). I would go to sleep, and once I was sleeping a woman dressed in white, with long black hair would carry me out of my bed and place me on the floor next to the door to my bedroom. At first, I thought it was a dream, and my parents told me I was just sleep-walking. One night, I specifically remember opening my eyes, and she was carrying me. I looked around and saw that I was floating. I was in the same position as if I were laying down on my back sleeping. She placed me on the floor in that same spot. I wasn't afraid of her at all, I think I was just annoyed every morning that I had to climb back in bed. My parents kept asking me why I would move from bed to sleep on the floor. I told them a lady carried me there from my bed......I don't remember how they responded, but I can imagine that was creepy. Maybe that's why we moved, who knows?

Does anyone have some kind of explanation as to what was going on with me? Oddly enough, I've never really researched it. In fact, it's just now dawning on me that I should. I've never been concerned with it. It wasn't scary, and I was sure it happened so I had no need to look into it. I have always wondered why it was happening, but I don't know why I didn't look into it. I'm going to now!

Does anyone else have a memory like this? Since things like this happen in childhood most frequently, I was wondering how many others have had things like this happen as children. I know of a couple of friends who have similar stories.

What can I do next?

When I was between 4 or 5, I used to wake up on the floor next to my bed, but with the bottom sheet on the floor, me on top and covered with the other sheet and blanket; so whoever put me there, made the bed on the floor with me in it ;P
At about the same period I did see a shadow on my wall when I woke up in the night, as if someone was behind me, since I was afraid, I called to my parents to see if it was either one of them and since they didn't answer, I just closed my eyes (didn't want to look back).
I also know that my mom gets to see several people, but usually its people she know that have past (no estrangers).

What a wonderful exciting question. I had an incident that occured when I was 6 or 7. My Grandmother passed away when I was 5 months old. She babysat me for a few months before she got sick but of course I don't remember her. One night I dreamed she came to me. She had on a light blue flowy dress and her hair was shoulder length and kind of flipped at the bottom. She took my hand and took me to different places. She then brought me back to my room, hugged me and put me to bed and told me she loved me. Since then I have experienced de ja vu where I feel I have been to places I have never been before. I often wonder if they were the places my Grandmother showed me. I was so young that I can't remember the places. During the dream I was never afraid and felt safe. I didn't tell my Mother about this dream until I was 23 after my Father died. When I described her my mother told me my Grandmother was buried in a light blue dress and she wore her hair the way it was in my dream. I felt so honored that she visited me.

There is just one more incident I want to share. My Father loved music and had all types of music. He played music all the time whether he was happy or sad music was his outlet. On my Mother's birthday the year my Father died a little after midnight while we were asleep his stero came on. We had not touched his stereo since he died. My room was closes to the Family room where the stereo was so I walked in there. My Mother came in there and she said your Dad is wishing me a Happy Birthday. If there is a way to communicate from the dead that is the way he would do it. I turned the stereo off and we went to bed.

Thanks for asking about our experiences. It may seem odd but this has made my day. I can't wait to read others.

Yes, I had things happen as a child, and they have carried on into adulthood. I've always felt that I was 'sensitive' toward anything supernatural (and I know my 7 year old is the same way). It's not a scary thing for us. My most frequent 'hauntings' come in dreams, and then those dreams come true. For example, after my godfather died (it was a long time coming, he was very sick, so when he passed it was more of a relief that the pain was gone). Long story short I dreampt about him, and told me he was okay, then told me it was time for me to wake up. I didn't want to, because I knew I wouldn't see him again. He handed me something and told me to go. When I woke up, I was holding my grandfathers rosary beads, which I thought I had lost the last time we moved. He was really there.

When my son was born, I heard him cooing to himself one night, and giggling. It wasn't that, but the footsteps I was hearing that woke me up. I went to check on him (thinking someone was in our house!)... the baby was smiling and all I could smell was my grandmothers perfume... she passed away new years eve 3 years ago. She was checking on him.

My MIL's father recently passed. We were talking about it in her kitchen one evening, and she was obviously very upset. He had had a very long, hard battle with Alzheimers. While she was talking, we saw this huge ball of light outside of the kitchen window. The light swooped around to the sliding glass door, came in, and wavered there... then slooowly disappeared.

I'm a huge believer in the paranormal and some sort of afterlife. The fact that you're thinking about this now may mean that you're getting some of that childhood sensitivity back. Does it frighten you? Are you calmed by it? I'm 26 also, and while these things are starting to happen again, there was a period when they had stopped, and I think they are coming back because there are kids around, and I think I mentioned that children are much more sensitive than adults (mostly because adults train themselves to blow off things that are 'not there').

Message me if you want to talk about it... I don't think it's a strange thing that happened at all, and maybe you can direct your memory to bring forward a bit more of what happened to you as a child so you can get some answers from it.

Best wishes!

I should also add that I dreampt all 3 of my grandparents passing exactly 2 days before they died. THOSE weren't necessarily pleasant, but sometimes you can't control your sensitivity. Looking back, it was kind of a 'heads up' as to what was about to happen.

Interesting story; it does intrigue one to look into it further. Maybe you could find a history on the house where you used to live. Or, maybe you could go visit a psycic. My father worked 3rd shift when we were kids, and my grandfather died when i was two (my parents house was her parents house growning up). My mom said she heard my grandfather open and close all of our bedroom doors nightly (there were six of us), and she said she knew it was my grandpa checking to make sure we were ok. When i was about 17 i saw my grandpa's ghost in my bedroom - clear as day - and when i told my mom, she admitted that she had seen him many times, and my older sister had also seen him. My older sis and I were the only ones ever to see him, which is likely becasue the others weren't around when he was alive. It never scared me. It actually made me feel safe. Now that I'm 30, your question has intrigued me to talk to my mom again. I wonder if she still sees him. Might be an interesting conversation. The fact that you weren't scared makes me feel that this woman was not there to harm you, but it is interesting why you ended up in that spot every night. I'm interesting to hear more....

Wow, oh my goodness. I commented on a post about this you might have run across it. But when I was around one or two I remember my crib being near a window in the apartment where we lived and one day I saw a lady dressed in white looking at me through the window. I was so ''excited'' by it and kept pointing at the window and saying ''Mama''that my mom thought someone was trying to break in.
After that incident it would be years until I experienced something out of the ordinary again. I was about 15 and my grandma had passed away in her home. I was by her side when she passed. A couple of days after that I was outside on the porch in her house and I was looking through the windows into the house and could see the hallway and I saw her standing there looking at me. I even thought to myself that I was going crazy and I did a double take and she was still there!
She would appear to me one more time a week before my grandpa died in the exact same spot I had seen her previously, in the hall way!
I have many other stories from that house and could probably be here all night writing, but you get the idea of what I experience in my childhood! Like I said in the post I commented on yesterday children are highly susceptible to seeing these things and they say if you see them your children are most likely going to be ''sensitive'' as well.

I don't remember any visits from when I was a child, but as a child and as an adult I have had dreams like those mentioned in other posts. The most recent one was when my Grandmother (my mom's mom) had a stroke. My mom was on a camp-out and in my dream my Uncle was trying to wake me up and have me get ahold of my mom because something was wrong with Grandma. I kept telling him that she was on a camp-out and there was nothing I could do. The dream was so vivid that when my mom got home the next day, I told her to call Grandma. She found out that Grandma had a stroke during the night and was lying in bed for hours before anyone realized it. I have often wondered if I could have saved her had I gotten up and done something.
I do think that we have a visitor in our home now, but it doesn't seem to be a bad one. An older couple lived here before us and I think the old man must have passed away here before the lady was moved out to a nursing home. Right after we moved in my son said that he woke up in the middle of the night and saw a tall, thin old man with gray hair, white shirt, brown pants and suspenders standing over his bed upstairs (both of my grandfathers were still alive at the time and this didn't resemble anyone in my husband's family either). The room is a huge loft and my son was the only one in that bedroom at the time, so even though he said he wasn't scared, we moved him downstairs and moved our room upstairs. I never saw anything while our bed was up there, but when we moved my son and his twin brother and sister back upstairs it happened again and still happens every once in a while. My son said it's never really been scary for him and just calls him "the old ghost", but my daughter is terrified of being in the dark up there. She won't sleep unless two nightlights are on and her radio is on.
My husband, the kids, and I have often heard someone walking around upstairs, always in the same spot each time and when no one is up there. My friends have heard it too, so I know it's not just me :)
It is interesting that these things happen to people and it does make you wonder why. I also agree that as adults we can block this stuff or be more open to it, depending. I haven't had a dream in a while and I wonder if I'm subconsciously blocking them because of the guilt I felt when I didn't respond to that last dream? And why is my son the only one who has seen this old man, but all of us have heard the walking around upstairs? Interesting stuff!

When I was under 4 I remember having some vivid dreams that were somewhat scary. Some I'm not sure if they were dreams or visions while awake. I do know that children that age can have a lot of nightmares.

I would stongly advise against any attempt at "contact" that another poster mentioned. You won't know exactly who or what you're contacting, and that would be dangerous.

I had so many incidents of every different type that I began to be a prophet. I could see the future and I can to this day.
If you want you can call that woman who moved you back and ask her why she did it. In dream therapy they are called dream figures and it is perfectly safe to call them back to ask their purpose and then send them back where they come from once you have the answer. Ask her to only come when you want her or tell her this is just a one time deal.
