Superbowl Question? When Is Half-time? (How Far In??)

The game is 6:30 Eastern Time (so 3:30 in CA). Half time is, roughly 2 hrs into the game.

Dang! You might just have to watch the game. I always do. We make snacks and special munchies, stay home and make a day of it. Superbowl stuff will be on throughout the day going over some of the greatest and worst plays, who has been injured or not. We just make a day of it.
I think the kick it starts at 3:30 and it goes until it's done. Sudden death overtime is always possible. I don't know that you can predict half time. Each quarter is scheduled for 15 minutes, but with time out, people going out of bounds or flags on plays, possible injury, it can go a lot longer. I prefer the superbowls that are really tight games because the blowouts are too boring. And they have the best commercials ever.
Plan for snacks. I'm not a football fanatic, but I watch the playoffs and the superbowl.

Halftime will probably be 2 hours into the game - give or take. Since they've taken to challenging and reviewing every darned play lately, it might be a bit longer than that.

Not sure what time it starts (thankfully the party's at someone else's house this year, lol) but you can google "what time is the super bowl" and the listing should come up.

Sounds like you know nothing about football but want to be a good hostess. As long as food and drink is available beginning an hour before the game your fans will be fine. Just keep an eye on how much time is left in each quarter by watching the time line on the screen during the game. Football time is much different than real time tho because they stop the clock for many reasons during the game. My guess would be that you should be prepared for halftime to come any where between an hour and 2 hours after kickoff.... which is scheduled for 3:30 California time.

I'm assuming you want to know so you can watch the commercials? If you have Tivo it's wonderful for things like this. You can record the game, fast forward through the slow parts of the game and get to the commercials and half time. It looks like Bruce Springstein and the E Street Band will be playing.
