I have a few pairs of the comfy pant pjs and never had trouble with them in the laundry.
I wash everything in cold water, no idea if that changes the outcome.
With the super plush "minky" pajamas being popular right now, I'd love to know how to control the resulting fuzz when they go through the wash. I've had to create a separate load just for them so that our regular clothes don't come out covered, but the fuzz is embedded. Lint rollers do not remove it. I was wondering what type of brush may remove it. I saw something at the knit shop but it was for natural fibers which these are not. Any ideas?
I checked the description online. It says Fabric: 100% polyester Care: Machine wash. I think I always washed it on 'Cool'. I don't recall if it was washed inside out. Sometimes it just works out that way.

I haven't had that problem but one thought would be to turn them inside out? I've done that with clothing that shed before, and it worked quite well.

I also have not had this difficulty. I turn them inside out and use the cold setting. I wash most of my clothes on that setting and also use the "express" setting. The only time I use the "regular" and hot water settings is for towels and extra dirty clothes.
The express setting is about 30 minutes long, enough to clean most clothes. I might not work for children's clothes that get noticeably dirty with mud, markers etc. And work clothes that also have obvious dirt.
I'm also a home economist. (That title tells my age. :-) When we wash clothes too long the clothes can absorb the "dirt:" still on the wash water or on thiscase, fibers. In the shorter cycle, the clothes are quickly rinsed. Mine still has the same steps as the regular cycle. They are just shorter.
I wonder if you washed them in hot water with other clothes that have static cling. The pjs themselves are made of man made fibers and can also have static cling.
I would try washing the regular clothes, that have fibers from the pjs, in cold water and use a fabric softener if there is static.
We might have other ideas if we knew the fiber content and the texture I.e. if the fabric of clothes that retain fibers are flat or with pile, knit or woven.
Maybe try a sweater shaver?
Furry stuff loses fibers every single time you wash and dry them. Eventually all the loose ones are gone and you have a lot less.
Wash them normally. Make sure you clean the washer filter. Dry them on low or delicate. Clean the dryer filter a couple of times during the cycle.
Again, as they are laundered over and over they will eventually stop shedding so much. BUT as you add new ones it starts all over with that one and those fibers get on the other garments and now they have more fibers that will come off them too.
