Super-absorbent Reusable Training Pants

I LOVE the one step ahead, dri nite's! Reusable, and has enough absorption for the content of a nights use! I do, like I did with cloth diapering and solely use vinegar and baking soda as cleaning agents, and forwarning, they will require extra time to completely dry! I put them thru the dryer cycle, then Hang them on clothesline for 12 hrs. Due to the thicker layers of cloth, which are super soft! They do require extra drying time? we use good nights and our 4yr old still has the occasional leak but we also have a bed pad under him. ( like you see in hospitals) So instead of having to wash all the sheets we just have the bed pad to wash. Alot of times he doesn't even get the top sheets/ blankets wet as he sleeps on his stomach.

If he is leaking through them every night he wets try going up a size in the pull ups. That might help as long as they aren't too loose around his legs.

We use Super Undies Nighttime Undies (NOT the pocket trainers) and LOVE them! I had tried a bunch of other things with my 4-year-old daughter (including the Happy Heinys Pocket Trainer which didn't work, and toddler sized prefold diapers which worked most of the time but were a hassle to take off and put back on). The Super Undies are not cheap ($29), but I found some for $25 at squishytushy.com -- they are slightly imperfect. They are super absorbent and user-friendly. And my daughter can pull them down (and usually up) on her own. And they NEVER leak!

I haven't tried them yet but check out www.superundies.com. They have overnight pocket trainers and 'just like underwear' trainers. The reviews (that I've read so far) seem to be fair.

These are some offered by One Step Ahead, they are only getting average reviews mostly due to long drying time (but that will come with cloth/waterproof absorbancy) and also some leaking. Maybe they would leak less if you added a doubler or a hemp insert type liner used for pocket diapers. I also recommend a waterproof pad to protect the sheets, definitely cuts down on laundry. Hope you find something that works.

Check out kellyscloset.com and look under the cloth training pants section. They have several kinds with reviews. Superundies offer a night time trainer a well as one with a pocket that you can stuff with various inserts to customize the absorbancy you need. Grovia and Fuzzibunz are some other brands that offer cloth trainers. The people at Kelly's Closet are also super nice and will answer any questions you have via phone or email. I got two Superundies pocket trainers for my son and stuff them with bamboo and hemp inserts which are very absorbant but thin. Two is enough cuz I do laundry every other day it seems. You can wash them safely with Tide original (no fabric softener) to retain their absorbancy.

Doubtful--you're still going to have wet sheets unless you use a cloth diaper and plastic pants AND a waterproof pad.

I'm all for saving the environment, but washing sheets and training pants has got to trump using a few pull ups per week in a "bad for the environment" race.

Layer sheet/pad/sheet/pad. Buy a few yards of the waterproof pad fabric and vut them BIG. Big pads so they are right under him, next to his body. With the Pull Up, all you'll have to wash is the pad.

My sisters son was a bed wetter and still occasionally does it at 9 years old. At 5 he was bigger than the largest size of good nights and they didnt hold it all. So she moved to the smallest size of adult diapers. Before that she lined the goodnights with incontinence pads. That was also absorbent enough as well. I have water proof pads under both girls at night. My 5 year old never had bed wetting accidents until this week, she had 2 back to back, so to save my sanity and beds, I ran out and got a bunch.

If you're considering changing his diaper in the middle of the night, you might just go ahead and take him to the potty earlier -- two or three hours after he goes to sleep. This is what I did with my kids. We skipped pullups but they always went potty around 10:30pm. (Limit drinks after 6, a little milk with stories and water with toothbrushing)
I carry them to the bathroom, night-lights on, but no bright lights, which is likely to jar them out of sleep. They respond a little, but mostly just sit down and pee, barely opening their little eyes.
Then carry or guide them back to bed where they gladly zonk back out.
If you decide to try it, give your guy a few nights to get used to it. Good luck.

I'm in the same intubation. I'm testing out mother love overnight cloth pull up's right now. They seem good but I haven't used them enough to be sure. Good luck!
