Does anyone know of a sunscreen or sunblock that does NOT contain aloe? I would like to protect my son's skin this summer but he is allergic to aloe and most of the sunscreens have aloe in them. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

I would see what your doctor recommends or maybe he could prescribe something.

I looked up the ingredients on the product that I use for my son and it doesn't have aloe in it. This product blocks UVB and UVA rays with all-natural microfine zinc oxide. Here's what the label says. gives you twice as much zinc oxide as Coppertone Spectra 3 and unlike most, this dermatolgist-tested sunscreen is infused with vitamins and antioxidants to help prevent premature skin aging.

Hi S.,
I just had to find a new sunscreen for my daughter, the reg. baby stuff was giving her a bad rash. So I just found A product called California Baby.SPF 30+ No fragrance,non-chemical sunscreen. It reads, no nut oils, gluten, soy, oat,or dairy.I bought it at Martin's grocery store in the organic section just look for baby products. It works great we were out all weekend and it protected her skin and I didn't have to worry if she was going to get a horrable rash from it. I love it.I hope you find a product that works well for you.Good luck, and God Bless. RachaelF

I had never noticed that sunscreens had aloe...but I don't look either as I do not have an allergy. Anyway, I suggest asking your dermatologist to suggest and perhaps prescribe one (plus they should be able to give you samples!)

You might want to visit www.ewg.org/skindeep where there is an entire database of sunscreens and about 107 of them rated. They list the products by ingredient.

There are many things to beware of other than aloe!! If you search the Blue Lizard product you will find many toxicity warnings on this one. California Baby products are typically excellent...but the sunscreen contains "nanoparticles" which are potentially troublesome.

I represent a line of certified organic personal products that are certified of international food standards, meaning that every ingredient is edible. We do not yet have a sunscreen though one is being prepared. Until we get ours, I use Aubrey Organics green teat sunscreen.

FWIW - your son prob couldnt use any of the products I sell - many of them are in a base of certified organic aloe vera.

However for other folks lookng for excellent pure products these are worth checking out.

Also do bookmark the Skin Deep website (ww.ewg.org/skindeep) because it is excellent. You will be surprosed at whats in most of the things you are using!!!

S.,
Have you tried Blue Lizard Sunscreen? I and my children have VERY sensative skin. We have to buy all Organic cleaners and soaps and such... anyway... we have used this Sunscreen for quite some time and LOVE it! It has GREAT coverage and does not contain Aloe. Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Suncream Lotion helps prevent sunburn and photodamage caused by UVA/UVB exposure. Higher SPF gives more sunburn protection. Retains SPF after 80 minutes of activity in water. Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen Suncream Lotion, SPF 30, Sensitive.
Immediate Protection. UVA and UVB Protection.Chemical Free, Fragrance Free.
You can get it through a ton of places. I like amazon the best.... here is the link http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Lizard-Australian-Suncream-Sen...#

Hope that helps..... Jenn

Hi S.,

check out this website: http://www.mexitanproducts.com/index.html

The sunscreen contains no aloe...it costs a little bit more, but it is pretty good for your sons skin. It also contains no incredians that can cost skin cancer. I use it for my 10 month old sun and for us too.

Maybe it works for you too.

Greetings

A.
