Im having a party for my cousins b-day next weekend of about 70 people, only 10 of them are kids. I need some ideas of what I can get for them to do both outside and inside( incase it rains). The ages range from about 2 to 8. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

Maybe just having a variety of options to entertain them - coloring books & crayons, simple art projects, board games, puzzles, a DVD if you get desperate. If there are any simple foods they could help with for the party, the older ones might like that - decorating their own cupcakes, etc. Even some old fashioned party games might be fun - pin the tail on the donkey, etc. I know it is hard when there are so many kids inside & you don't want too much of a mess. Good Luck & have fun!

last summer for my daughters birthday party, I bought a bunch of big wands at the dollar store and they made huge bubbles. the kids loves it and i got some cool pictures!
This year the kids are going to decorate and fly some kites. you can make simple kites with just a piece of paper, and tape/staple them together. You can google instructions.
if it's hot, a sprinkler for sure, or water balloons.

Get a few of those frisbee-type flying discs (the bigger ones), bubbles, a few squirt guns, some water balloon for outside. If it rains, rent a few G rated movies.

At a friend's wedding reception, he had a guy that made balloon animals which the kids loved and the band. At one point in time there were about 6 preschoolers on the dance floor 'dancing' to the music and no adults dancing yet. The children had as much fun (or more!) than the adults. If you are outside, the water ideas are good. And I like the bubbles idea. I think you won't have too much trouble with them. Children do a good job of connecting and creating their own play when given the opportunity.

If you have a large large that has a small slope, make your own slip and slide by using a tarp and some dishwashing liquid.

Play a game, you need 2 buckets or large sand pails, and 2 smaller containers, and 2 sponges. Fill the large buckets with water. Divide the kids in two teams, they dip the sponge in the water and ring it out in the other container.

Give them each a bottle of bubbles, See who can make the largest.

Blow up some beach balls. They can just toss in the air, play catch, play kickball.

Inside... possibly a craft project.

hula hoops, chalk for outside and bubbles, sand box? Let them play with your toys insice, have a station inside where they can color or glue things on a craft. We had chalk paint that was a hit but it was outside and one of those giant i mean large nerf or like bathing suit material frisbees that was a big hit, all the kids chaced it as one threw it but we had to use the neighbors yard as well since mine is small. we had a boom box and brought the microphone out and the kids sang hannah montanna songs, the boys did squirt gun fights and I forgot to put out water balloons but then we did smores on the fire pit but if the kids are too small? they might be asleep by then though and hte older ones will like it. have fun!

am excited to tell you about my company Noah's Ark Animal Workshop! It is a convenient, unique and affordable party that comes to you with prices as low as only $10 per child! This is a traveling "Stuff -N- Fluff" Animal Workshop where children of all ages and children at heart will actually make their own stuffed animal very similar to build a bear without the hassel of leaving home and paying overinflated mall prices! In addition to "just for fun home workshops" parties, I conduct glamour girl Bella Bee Workshops as well where we encourage young ladies to be beautiful on the inside as well as the out. These kits are only $10 per child too. I also can ship you the stuffed animal of your choice and you can conduct the party as you would like. The kits comes with the animal, stuffing, wishing star, birth certificate, take home bags, sticker or arts-n-craft activity and party supplies. My "party in a box" is so affordable and easy to put together even a child can do it! :) Please feel free to visit my website at www.noahsarkworkshop.com/christinewilliams5827 or give me a call at ###-###-#### to discuss your many options, you'll be glad you did!

if you can be outside, its great. get things like bubbles, sidewalk chalk, toys, etc. kids loooove those parachutes, you can get a cheap one at oriental trading.com, lots of craft ideas there too, i usually set up a craft table outside with some activities. its also great if there are kids who dont know everyone or just dont quite get into the groove with the other kids, it gives them something to do. if you have enough outdoor toys, they will occupy themselves. just remember plenty of snacks and drinks. my advice is that if you are gonna have water activities, be sure to let the parents know ahead of time that it will get messy so they will bring a change of clothes etc. have extra sunscreen on hand. if you get stuck inside and you dont want to let them run amok like i do, just set up a space for them with enough toys etc, crayola color wonder is great if you want to have indoor crafts but dont think you will be keeping a close eye on things. those foamie activites are great, no mess. scavenger hunt. those big balloons on the rubber band are always fun for all kids to bop each other with. get a little disco light and let them have a dance party. you probably have enough stuff around that you can set up a play classroom for them, chalkboard/easel, flash cards, construction paper and crafts, etc the older ones can "teach" the littles. check out wondertime magazine or family fun magazine, tons of ideas there. a tip, when you mix kids into an adult party, be really careful of the alcohol if you are having any. i had my kids at a new years party, mostly adults with about 10 kids as well. i walked into the "kid room" just as my then 3 year old son was sampling a drink that someone had left on a table. take whatever precautions you need to. have fun :)

For the children's safety you might want to hire a teenager who would organize games and watch over them. Parents, sometimes forget they have kids at parties.

Have fun

Slip n' Slide and giant water guns. We have these pump water guns that shoot a stream of water really far. A couple of filling stations (kiddie pools or 5 gallon buckets) and you're good to go w/ those. Water balloons, frisbees, croquet. All good for outside summer fun if you're not lucky enough to have a pool. :)

For inside movies, or any sort of art project...tie dyed t-shirts are fun for the older kids (put the buckets w/ the dye in the garage) or go to your local craft store for tons of ideas.

Have fun! :)

sounds like this is really an adult party with a few kids. I would set up a room with some appropriate movies for the kids to watch. These are pretty young kids so you might consider hiring a babysitter or two to watch them.

Outside have balls, toys and possibly sand.

Outside is easy with a few balls, frisbee, etc. Depending on how hot it is, tell them they can bring bathing suits and get out the sprinkler and let them play in that. Not sure. Also, we just had a party at our house and the kids swam for awhile and came in and either colored or sat in the front room and watched Sponge Bob! So I don't think you have to try to plan too many things for the kids. Sorry this probably didn't help but good luck and have fun!

classic party games - musical chairs, pin the nose on the whatever, clothespin drop into a bottle, etc.

Or go to http://www.familyfun.com and look up reunions, there are tons of neat multi-generational games on there

Well y don’t you pick any summer party theme like tropical, farm house, luau or any garden theme. This will make things easier for you be it decor, favors or food, everything will revolve around the chosen theme. You can organize lot of fun activities to keep the kids busy if there is no rain you can have a potato sack race in your backyard, how about hula hooping competition, kids of all age would surely love it and in case you have a pool at home, you can also let the kids have fun playing treasure hunt, and in case you host your party inside, plan lot of craft activities like making monster balloons, sea shell sail boats, paper fans, paper dolls. You can explore summer craft ideas on this blog here http://goo.gl/xXnNjS. it will surely be a great help.
