What sort of comforter, quilt or blanket do your kids use in the summer? I'm thinking specifically for houses that don't have air conditioning. We live at a high altitude and it's very dry here (no humidity) so people don't generally have refrigerated air. But it does get warm during the days so it's probably about 75 in my kids' room when they go to sleep. I can't keep the windows open due to street noise, but they do have an overhead fan that keeps the air moving.
Anyway - their regular down comforters are way too heavy, but a sheet is too light. Anyone in the same situation? Do you have just a plain blanket? A summer weight down comforter?
Beginning in March. it begins warming up down here. We use sheets and then a cotton blanket if the person feels cold or chilled.
The comforter is just folded at the foot of the bed, so if they get really cold they could use that.
My boys use a light weight down comforter all year, and just add a quilt on top in the winter
We live in hell. I mean, AZ. lol In the summer we take off our comforters and use light weight bedspreads. We still have the a/c on so it isn't "warm" in our house, it's cool, but we don't have the heavy blankets and comforters on the beds. Hope that helps. Good luck.

A thin summer quilt or a cotton blanket would work well.
My kids just use a sheet (our house is anywhere between 72-78 with the AC on) and have their regular comforter in case they get 'colder' at night. Since we haven't been having our air on the past few weeks, the sheets have been just fine :)
Just a blanket. On top of their sheet.
And it is also up to the person.
Some want comforters, some don't. Some just want a blanket. Some don't.
And some do just want to sleep with a sheet on them and that's all.
You can get light weight cotton blankets at most stores. A comforter of any weight is too warm for me. Even my lightweight bedspread is way too warm in summer. I don't have air conditioning, I don't like it.
I would advise you to keep the windows open the kids will adjust to the noise. I grew up in a rural area on a major highway with two bars across the street. All summer loud music, motorcycles, bar fights, car accidents and the like. I can sleep through anything except a baby crying or the phone ringing.
During the summer my oldest sleeps with just a sheet but my youngest LOVES his lightweight down blanket.
Lightweight summer comforter with duvet cover on top, a couple of cotton blankets underneath. Here in Bend, it can be in the 80s during the day and in the 40's at night. So I layer the bed so I can throw on/off blankets as the temps change.
My kids use a light weight quilt in the summer and we save the down comforter+quilt for the winter months.
One of my boys will only use the top sheet and is good, the other two are like me and need to feel some weight on us to sleep, the light weight quilts are just perfect for this.
I don't know where we got them (sorry!) but we have several very thin blankets - they almost feel like a thick table cloth - they're just a little heavier than a sheet but much much lighter than any regular blanket.
I don't know what stores you have near you, but something like Bed, Bath & Beyond or Sears would be some good places to start looking. Or maybe look on their websites before hitting the stores in person.

Hi South Texas here. My jaw dropped when I read your summer months are 75! lol that is cooler than we keep our house yr round. But our nights get cooler from 65-80 durring the summer. I use a knot blanket for my little girl but she likes to be warmer. I need to move!!! A throw blanket or some of these are what we use
