Can anyone give me a recommendation for summer activities for 3 year olds in Norman, OK area? My 5 year old has a few good summer things planned, but I need some more for my 3 year old. I am happy to do stuff with her, as in a parent child activity. I am spending lots of lazy summer time with my girls, but my husband is going out of the country for 2 weeks for a golf vacation (where is my vacation?) so I will need some respite. Also I think if I had to spend every day of the summer with my 3 year old we would both be crazy by the end. Thanks for your advice!

I also have little ones about that age. I have a 6 year old, a 5 year old, and a son who is 3 almost 4. I tend to meet up with my cousin at chuck-e-cheese so her son can play with my children and we sit at the table and just catch up on mommy talk or we play games with the kids sometimes. They also have a play area like at mcdonald's for the children, but the good thing about it is they stamp your hand before you go in and you can 't leav with children that don't belong to you because they lok at the stamps on your hand to make sure it matches with your children and if it doesn't they won't let you leave becasue they will think that you are trying to take a child that is not yours. We also go to mcdonald's and let them play or just stay at my house or hrs and make up activities for them like arts and crafts that's not very messy or play board games for younger children. I don't know if you have already tried these things, but it's just a suggestion. Good luck!!!!
Does Norman have a splash pad? There is one in Midwest City. Are you a member of a play group?
Congrats on the very good prognosis!
The Pioneer Public Library System has a wonderful summer reading program that offers weekly activities both kids should enjoy. You can get a calendar soon at any branch. The programs are educational, fun and usually keep the youngsters attention quite well.
With your 3 year old daughter can you travel with her? Since your 5 year old will have activities already scheduled are you willing to travel out of the Norman area or do you want to stay in Norman? In Enid there is Leonardo's Discovery Warehouse & Adventure Quest which is a fantastic playground and museum. In Seminole you have the Jasmine Moran Children's Museum which is really another great play museum. In Norman you have the Little River Zoo. The Norman Library might also have some activities during the summer you can check into.
I also was a SAHM with 3 children and I had no help from family. My husband was in the military and was constantly gone overseas. I was always looking for some activity for my children to keep them involved so they would not miss their Dad and to also give me a little breathing room! My children are now grown up and out of the house, but still come home and I still remember the days of them clinging to my thighs!! I am so very excited you have a good prognosis; I walk every October with my two girls in downtown OKC. My oldest is active with the Breast Cancer Society and she volunteers.
I hope this gives you some ideas!
Andy Alligator located at I-35 and Indian Hills is an arcade for the little ones. We take our 4 year old son there and he is busy for a couple of hours. they have a lot of out door activities as well in indoor. Also Jump Zone or Pump It Up is a great place to get rid of some of that energy.
